Jeremy Joseph has recovered from his earlier beat at the hands of Sam Greenwood and has managed to turn the tables on the Canadian pro, taking down a sizable pot with a big river bet.
We arrived on the river with the board reading with close to 8,000 already in the pot.
Joseph is the out of position player in the hand, meaning he gets first stab and led out for 3,500. Greenwood mulled it over but did not make the call, dropping down to 13,700 after making the fold and leaving Joseph to scoop the pot.
Sam Greenwood raised to 1,400 and small blind Dominykas Karmazinas called. Karmazinas check-called 800 on before both of them checked the on the turn and on the river. Greenwood showed and Karmazinas mucked.
The next hand, Greenwood raised to 1,400 again, this time from first position. Again, Karmazinas called - he was on the button this hand. Both checked the flop, followed by Greenwood potting for 3,400 on the turn. Karmazinas called and both then checked the on the river. Greenwood showed and Karmazinas mucked again.
Australian pro James Obst has not long sat down in the $5,000 pot limit omaha and the field is now up to 39 entrants.
Obst opened the action with a min-raise to 800 from the cutoff and picked up two callers in the form of Daniel Laidlaw (button) and Espen Solaas (big blind).
All three players checked the flop and when the landed on the turn Espen Solaas decided to take a stab and led out for 1,300. That was enough to get both Obst and Laidlaw to bow out and the Norwegian player raked in a small pot.
James Obst has just walked past the media desk with a registration slip in hand for his second bite of the cherry to bring the total number of entrants to 44.
Sitting in the big blind with the flop reading Yevgeniy Timoshenko is facing a 2,000 bet from his button-based opponent and nearly times out before deciding to apply the pressure and check-raising full pot.
It's is the button's turn to tank but he folds well before his shot clock time runs down and Timoshenko now looks to be sitting on a stack in excess of 40,000.
The UK's Sam Trickett has just wandered by the media desk and looked interested when we told him there was some pot limit omaha action on the go, and with late registration open for another hour he may well chose to join.
From first position, Phil Laak raised to 1,600. The button and big blind called and they checked down the entire board of . The big blind showed a jack, Laak tabled but the pot went to the button who revealed .
