Welcome to the 2019 Aussie Millions for Day 1 of Event #12: AU$50,000 Challenge live from Crown Melbourne in Melbourne, Australia.

The stakes are steadily climbing as the AU$25,000 Challenge has been completed with Rainer Kempe defeating Toby Lewis, and the AU$10,000 Main Event is also set to kick off. For those players looking for more high stakes action, the AU$50,000 Challenge is on the cards for the day.

In 2018 only four players participated, and it would be Sam Greenwood defeating Jan-Eric Schwippert heads-up to capture the AU$116,400 first prize and the Aussie Millions ring. Although last year's event may have been viewed as a disappointment, the 2019 installment is expected to extract some revenge as plenty of notables have expressed their desire to take a seat in the field.

Players will begin with 50,000 in starting chips and registration and re-entries are allowed until the end of level seven; approximately 3:10 p.m. (AEDT) on Monday, January 28. Levels will be 60 minutes in duration for the entirety of the tournament and there is a shot clock in play meaning players have just 30 seconds to act on their hand and will have two 60-second time extension chips.

The cards are in the air at 1:10 p.m. (AEDT) with the PokerNews Live Reporting Team providing continuous live updates of all the Event #12: AU$50,000 Challenge action. So stay tuned right here to PokerNews.com for all the AU$50,000 Challenge action, along with all the updates live from the 2019 Aussie Millions.
