Race Off

The tournament clock has been paused for a brief moment while the staff assists the players with a raceoff of the 100 denomination chips.

Australia v.s. U.S.A.

With six players remaining, we've noticed that the final table is divided into two nationalities. The left side of the table houses Australians Van Marcus, Mark Kassis and Michael "Sticky" Guttman, while American players Lee Watkinson, Tom "Dwan" Durrrr and Mike Sexton make up the right half.

Last longer, anyone?

Durrrr Still Rolling

Apparently the failed attempt at a deal sent Tom "Durrrr" Dwan into higher gear, as he's been considerably more aggressive, picking up one small pot after another. He's added another 50,000 in chips to his stack since the impromptu break and is once again approaching 200,000 in chips.

Michael "Sticky" Guttman Eliminated in 6th Place (AU$30,960)

Michael "Sticky" Guttman
Michael "Sticky" Guttman
Michael "Sticky" Guttman opened the action with a raise to 9,000. Lee Watkinson makes the call in position and the blinds fold.

Flop: {10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Guttman bet the pot making it 22,500 to go. Watkinson instantly and silently pushes all of his remaining chips into the middle and Guttman goes into the tank. The bet is for 59,000 and covers Guttman. He eventually makes the call and the cards are tabled:

Guttman: {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Watkinson: {10-Spades}{K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{8-Spades}

The turn is the {4-Spades} and river {3-Diamonds} and Watkinson's trip tens are good to take the pot. This is not the first time Watkinson and Guttman have tangled in a major Omaha tournament. At the 2006 WSOP Guttman finished runner-up to Watkinson in the $10,000 Pot Limit Omaha World Championship. Once again today Watkinson gets the better of Guttman, eliminating him from today's event in 6th place for AU$30,960.
