Warren Teal Eliminated in 11th Place ($14,500)

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Warren Teal
Warren Teal

Kyle Cartwright opened to 60,000 in the hijack and Warren Teal re-jammed for 260,000 on the button. Cartwright called.

"A little more this time," said Teal, who had just chopped his stack of 220,000 with Cartwright the hand before when two baby aces saw three tens and a king come on board.

"I have a little better this time," said Cartwright, tabling {a-Spades}{7-Spades}. Teal showed {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

"Ace always wins here," said Cartwright in similar fashion to earlier in the afternoon. "Nice playing with you," he added.

Unfortunately for Teal, Cartwright's prediction was correct and the runout {a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} brought about Teal's departure in 11th place.

William Thomas Eliminated in 10th Place ($18,099)

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
William Thomas
William Thomas

William Thomas had found a double but was down to under 200,000 again after the blinds went through him. He called all in from the cutoff after Dustin Holladay open-jammed in the hijack with a covering stack.

William Thomas: {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Dustin Holladay: {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}

Holladay was the one to win the coin flip on a runout of {j-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and Thomas tapped the table before making his way to the payout table, taking 10th place in the tournament. One more elimination is now needed to reach the final table of eight.

Zach Gruneberg Eliminated in 9th Place ($18,099)

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Zach Gruneberg
Zach Gruneberg

Zach Gruneberg open-shoved for 305,000 in the hijack and action folded to Kyle Cartwright in the big blind, who looked down at his two cards and then proceeded to grab a stack of chips and place them down onto the felt as he simultaneously turned up his hand.

Zach Gruneberg: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Kyle Cartwright: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

The flop {7-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} gave Cartwright top two pair, leaving Gruneberg in need of hitting a ten to stay alive. One did not come as {9-Spades}{3-Diamonds} completed the runout and Gruneberg became the ninth-place finisher as a result. The tournament clock has now been paused with 21:46 remaining in Level 24 for the eight final tablists to make their way to the studio table in preparation for the live-streamed final table.

Play will resume at 8:10 p.m. and the live stream will come on a 30-minute delay with PokerNews updating alongside the live stream.

Dustin Holladay
Dustin Holladay

Dustin Holladay open-jammed for 265,000 in the cutoff with {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} and David Johnson re-jammed on the button for 1.02 million with {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. Brian Arbaugh had {k-Spades}{q-Clubs} in the small blind and got a count for Holladay's stack. He thought for over a minute and then called all in for 345,000.

The board ran out {k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{5-Spades} to give Arbaugh two pair and nearly triple his stack, sending Holladay out in eighth and taking a chunk of Jackson's stack along the way.

Stephen Strout Eliminated in 7th Place ($29,280)

Stephen Strout
Stephen Strout

Jake Ferro raised to 115,000 in the hijack with {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and received a call from Stephen Strout in the small blind with {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. Action went heads up to a flop of {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{q-Spades} and Strout check-shoved his remaining 235,000 into the middle over Ferro's continuation-bet of 75,000, which Ferro called.

Strout was drawing only to running tens or a broadway card to chop it, but none came as the turn {4-Hearts} and river {8-Hearts} completed the runout to bring his elimination in seventh place.

Johnny Landreth was in the hijack and raised to 175,000 with {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. Brian Arbaugh was on the button with {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and three-bet to 300,000, roughly one-third of his stack. The blinds folded and Landreth called, bringing the flop {7-Spades}{q-Spades}{8-Hearts} where Landreth checked and then called Arbaugh's continuation-bet of 175,000.

The turn came {7-Diamonds} and Landreth checked again. Arbaugh jammed for his last 435,000 and Landreth immediately called. No ace came on the river {9-Hearts} and Arbaugh finished in sixth place as a result.

David Jackson
David Jackson

David Jackson opened to 120,000 in the hijack with {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} and Hal Rotholz looked down at {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} in the cutoff. Rotholz three-bet to 370,000, prompting Jake Ferro to fold {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} on the button. Once action was back on Jackson, he four-bet shoved for 1.105 million and Rotholz called off the remainder.

The flop {6-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} gave Rotholz a flush draw, leaving Jackson with nine more outs to sweat. The turn {4-Clubs} was safe, but the river {3-Diamonds} completed Rotholz's draw and eliminated Jackson in fourth place, earning $49,767 for his performance.

Johnny Landreth Eliminated in 4th Place ($66,069)

Johnny Landreth
Johnny Landreth

Kyle Cartwright was in the cutoff and raised to 160,000 with {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. Johnny Landreth called on the button with {k-Spades}{9-Spades} and then Hal Rotholz three-bet to 410,000 in the small blind. Cartwright folded and then Landreth called, leaving himself 205,000 behind.

Rotholz put Landreth in blind before the flop came {10-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Landreth thought for a couple of moments before calling off the last of his chips with the gutter ball.

The turn {a-Diamonds} left Landreth's gutshot draw set to chop the pot at best, but no queen came on the river {3-Clubs} and he was eliminated in fourth place as a result.

Kyle Cartwright Eliminated in 3rd Place ($88,761)

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Kyle Cartwright
Kyle Cartwright

After Hal Rotholz folded on the button, Jake Ferro completed his small blind with {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and Kyle Cartwright raised his option with {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. Rotholz limp-jammed on him and he snap-called.

A queen-high flop {6-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} gave Rotholz two more outs to send Cartwright out in third place. The first of his two shots missed on the turn {2-Clubs} but the river {q-Diamonds} gave Rotholz trips, topping Cartwright's cowboys to end his run just shy of the top.

Cartwright takes home $88,761 for his performance; meanwhile, Rotholz and Ferro are taking a quick break before beginning their heads-up match with Ferro taking a lead into the contest.

Hal Rotholz raised to 225,000 on the button with {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and Jake Ferro three-bet shoved his remaining 1.75 million into the middle in the big blind with {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} and Rotholz called upon receiving confirmation of the amount.

Ferro was in trouble with his dominated hand and no help came on the runout {5-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} to result in his runner-up finish in the 2021 bestbet Jacksonville Spring Series $2,500 Main Event, good for $120,658. Meanwhile, Hal Rotholz has claimed the trophy and top prize of $180,986.

A recap of the tournament will be posted in the near future, so be sure to stick around.
