Broadway Good On A Four-Flush Board

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Ricardo Eyzaguirre
Ricardo Eyzaguirre

Ricardo Eyzaguirre opened the action with a raise to 2,500 under the gun and received a call from the player on his direct left in early position. Action then folded around to the big blind, and action went three ways to the streets.

All three players checked the flop {q-Spades}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts}, bringing the turn {2-Spades}. Both the big blind and Eyzaguirre checked again, and the early-position player bet 3,500, resulting in two calls.

With everybody still in the hand, the river fell {k-Spades} bringing a fourth spade on board, and all three players once again checked through to showdown.

The big blind tabled {q-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for queens up as Eyzaguirre looked back at his cards, following suit and tabling {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for Broadway. The final player in the hand failed to hold a spade, and as a result sent his cards to the muck to earn Eyzaguirre the pot with his ace-high straight.

Rash Adds To His Stack

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

A player in middle position open-jammed for 8,300 and Chad Brown three-bet to the minimum-required value of 15,600 on the button. Steve Rash was in the small blind and announced a cold four-bet jam, shoving his stack of 62,900 into the middle over the top.

The big blind folded with a grimace after about 20 seconds of thought, and Brown looked back at his two cards once more before tossing them to let the two remaining players in the hand have at it.

All-In Player: {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}
Steve Rash: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

The board ran out in Rash's favor, coming {8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{q-Spades} to give him top two pair as he avoided a backdoor wheel draw to take down the pot. After the hand, Brown chuckled a bit, remarking that he had folded the same hand as Rash.

Valdez Toasted

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Starr Valdez was just eliminated from the tournament after getting her last 10,300 into the middle preflop, three-bet shoving over an opener that looked her up. She confirmed the details after it happened, saying she had ace-three and it was unable to hold versus her opponent's king-nine.

Rosenberg Scores A Knockout

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

With a pile of chips already in the center, a player in the big blind shoved for their last 11,000 on a board of {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} into Michael Rosenberg, who was in the hijack and called.

All-In Player: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Michael Rosenberg: {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Rosenberg's middle pair and open-ended straight draw was ahead of his opponent's third pair and gutshot straight flush draw, but he had plenty of outs to fade. Such a task proved to be no sweat as a harmless river {2-Spades} completed the runout to earn him the pot and knockout.

Laieta Skyrocketing

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Christopher Laieta
Christopher Laieta

At least 20,000 went into the middle from preflop action between Christopher Laieta in middle position and Ricardo Eyzaguirre, who was on the button. Laieta checked the flop {8-Spades}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} over to Eyzaguirre, who bet 9,000, and Laieta check-raised to 27,000. Eyzaguirre called almost instantly.

Laieta continued on the turn {j-Diamonds}, shoving all in to put Eyzaguirre to a decision for his stack. Ten seconds later, Eyzaguirre's tossed his cards towards the center of the table, where they landed flush to the felt to result in the dealer shipping the pot Laieta's way.

Laieta had already chipped up well over 150,000 prior to the hand, and now finds himself over 200,000 after the won pot.
