Cohen Catches a Five

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Marcus Cohen was all in and at risk for around 600,000 with {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}, and he was dominated by John Yanni's {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}. The flop fell {a-Spades}{5-Spades}{k-Diamonds}, giving Cohen a set of fives, and he held as the turn and river bricked out {2-Diamonds}, {10-Diamonds} respectively.

Cohen doubled to 1.2 million chips, while Yanni fell to 2.1 million.

Rea of Light

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 5,000 ante

Michael Rea was moved all in for 1.07 million with {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, but was dominated by Kevin Grabel's {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}.

The dealer spread {5-Spades}{10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}, giving Rea a leading pair of tens, and he added a heart draw when the {7-Hearts} fell on the turn. A non-heart queen or king could eliminate Rea on the river, but the {j-Spades} was a brick, and he doubled to 2.21 million chips.

Grabel fell to 1.8 million.

Ibra Can't Catch

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 5,000 ante

Ibraim Ibraimovic raised to 180,000 in early position, Mitchell Mantin defended his big blind, and the flop came {8-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Spades}. Mantin opted to lead out - firing 375,000 - and Ibraimovic moved all in for effectively 1.515 million. Mantin snap-called.

Mantin: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Ibraimovic: {a-Spades}{8-Spades}

Mantin pair of queens were best, but Ibraimovic could win with an ace, eight, or spade on the turn or river. Unfortunately for him both of those streets were filled with red bricks - the {k-Hearts}, and {10-Diamonds} respectively - and Mantin shipped a massive double up to 3.45 million.

Ibra is on life support with around 250,000.

Three Tables

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 5,000 ante

Stephanie Hubbard took out Sahu Habibi when her {K-Hearts}{9-Clubs} hit a 9 on the river to outdraw Sahu's {A-Spades}{K-Spades}.

Moments later, Adam Pace took out Tony Hall after Tony moved all in under the gun with {Q-Spades}{10-Spades} and Pace called with {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}. The board came {K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{K-Clubs} to give Pace the knock out. That brings us down to 27 players - 3 tables of 9 apiece.

Tran Playing Big Pots

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Hieu Tran has been unafraid to play in big pots all day, and his fearlessness is carrying into the night.

He recently played two million-chip pots, one against Sergei Rylkov and the other against Yevgeni Rapoport.

In the first hand, he and Rylkov were heads up on a board of {5-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. Tran fired 325,000 into a pot of 800,000, Rylkov called, and both players checked when the river brought the {6-Spades}. Rylkov showed {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}, and won the pot.

A few hands later, there was another million in the middle on a board of {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}{k-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. Tran fired out 800,000, and Rapoport went deep into the tank. The clock was called, and eventually Rapoport folded.

Michael Klein Eliminated in 25th Place ($5,299)

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Michael Klein - 25th Place
Michael Klein - 25th Place

Michael Klein moved all in for 600,000 on a flop of {8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, and was called by Kim Noun. Noun showed {7-Spades}{6-Spades} for a pair and a straight draw, and Klein was drawing with {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for two overs and a flush draw.

Neither the turn ({j-Clubs}) or the river ({2-Spades}) improved Klein, however, and he was eliminated in 25th place. Noun is up to 3.05 million.
