Ravi Raghaven Picks Up a Small One

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Ravi Raghaven
Ravi Raghaven

Grinding away in the corner of the Signature Room here at Borgata is Ravi Raghaven. He recently picked up a small pot when he opened to 2,100 and called a 6,000 raise from the player on the button.

The flop came {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Raghaven check-called a 3,500 bet. The two players checked the {J-Spades} turn and {Q-Hearts} river and Raghaven took it down with {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

Raghaven is one of the more successful players in the field with nearly $2.7 million in lifetime tournament winnings including winning the World Poker Tour Five Diamond Poker Classic in 2012.

Sean Wallace Fades Draws to Double

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Sean Wallace
Sean Wallace

With the board showing {10-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}, Sean Wallace led out for 4,500 and Dan Wach made it 13,000 to go.

Wallace put in another raise, this time to 35,000. Wach didn't think long before announcing he was all in and Wallace snap-called and turned over {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}.

Wach was on a draw with {J-Spades}{8-Spades} and would pick up some more out when the turn came {4-Clubs}. Any spade, nine, or six would give him the knock out.

The river, however, was a third Ace, the {A-Hearts} and Wallace wins the huge pot to move his stack to 165,000 while Wach is knocked down to 26,000.

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Taurean Davis was all in and at risk preflop holding {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}, and was in a race against "Action" Bob Hwang's {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}.

There was an ace on the {3-Spades}{10-Clubs}{a-Spades} flop, giving Hwang the lead, and the turn and river bricked {q-Spades}, {3-Clubs} respectively. Davis exited the tournament, while Hwang is up to 130,000 chips.

Matt Giannetti Hanging Around

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Matt Giannetti
Matt Giannetti

Earlier we talked about Ravi Raghaven and his financial prowess in poker tournaments. One player who has earned more that is taking part in the action here today is Matt Giannetti who has $4.365 million in lifetime tournament earnings.

A good chunk of that came when Giannetti made the November Nine of the World Series of Poker Main Event back in 2011 for slightly over three million dollars but he's proven he is no one hit wonder as he recently won the World Poker Tour Lucky Hearts Poker Open in February for $298,304.

Giannetti recently picked up a nice sized pot when he bet 6,700 on the {J-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop and called his opponent's 18,500 raise. The two checked the {5-Hearts} turn and Giannetti led out for 9,000 when the river came {J-Clubs}. His opponent mucked to give Giannetti the pot, moving his stack to approximately 80,000.

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

David Tuthill limped in on the button, Ravi Raghavan completed from the small blind, and Shawn Busse checked in the big blind.

The trio all checked on a flop of {q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{10-Spades}, the turn was the {4-Spades}, and Raghavan led out for 3,200. Only Busse called.

The river was the {j-Hearts}, Raghavan checked, and Busse fired 8,000. Raghavan checked, and Busse picked up the pot.
