Ketan KO'd

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

On one of the last hands of the evening, Ketan Pandya was all in and at risk for around 51,000 on a board of {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{k-Hearts}. He turned over {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}, but he was drawing dead against the {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} of Yuval Harosh.

A meaningless {6-Spades} completed the board, and Pandya hit the rail.

Zaydman Leads Final 23 in Event 11

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante
Chip leader Elliott Zaydman

Day 1 of Event 11: $1,090 $100,000 Guaranteed Six-Max NLHE Reentry is in the books, and leading the 23 remaining players is Elliott Zaydman. Zaydman, who has $212,364 in career lifetime earnings, won a massive, 400,000-chip pot against Ketan Pandya in Level 14. Zaydman flopped a set of sixes, Pandya held an ace-high flush draw, and Zaydman faded a diamond on both the turn and the river.

Zaydman finished the day with 402,100 chips, and was the only player to bag more than 300,000. His closest competitors entering Day 2 will be Frank Bonaco (297,500), Kevin Saul (273,400), and Jeff Madsen (255,400).

Also among the final 23 players are Alex Rocha (223,900), Justin Young (174,200), and "Action" Bob Hwang (140,400). Hwang's largest cash came here at Borgata, when he finished fifth in the WPT Borgata Poker Open for $299,730, while Young, who has over $3.2 million in career live tournament earnings, is searching for his first cash at this venue.

Five of the returning players will walk away empty-handed, and the top 18 players will receive a minimum of $1,862. The winner of this 192-player event will earn $52,150, along with the hardware.

Several notable players were unable to survive Day 1 of Event 11, including Eric Baldwin, Mike Leah, Keven Stammen, Matt Giannetti, David Tuthill, Dan Wach, and Ravi Raghavan. Tuthill ran {q-Hearts}{q-Spades} into Zaydman's {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} in Level 14, while Wach was unable to hit flush and straight draws against Sean Wallace's pocket aces.

Day 2 will begin at noon on Saturday, and end when a champion is crowned. Be sure to return for exclusive live updates straight from the tournament floor from PokerNews!
