Abraham Korotki
Abraham Korotki

Day 3 of the 2014 Borgata Spring Poker Open Championship Event is set to kick off in a few minutes here in the Signature Room at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, and leading the final five tables is Abraham Korotki.

Korotki was able to bully the bubble en route to bagging a stack of 830,000 chips, and was trailed very closely by Jake Toole (822,000). Alan Wentz, who started Day 2 with the biggest stack in the room, also finished with a massive stack, bagging 730,500.

Several accomplished players still remain, including WSOP bracelet winners Shankar Pillai and Jeff Papola, 2012 $50,000 Poker Players Championship finalist Roland Israelashvili, 2012 WPT Borgata Poker Open finalist Matt Brady, and 2011 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showndown winner Taylor Von Kriegenbergh, and more.

The cards will be in the air at high noon, and PokerNews will be bringing you live updates straight from the tournament floor as we march to the final three tables - or beyond.

Junayed Khan
Junayed Khan

Abraham Korotki raised to 12,000 in middle position, Jackduyph Duong called in the hijack seat, and Junayed Khan three-bet to 37,000 out of the small blind. Only Duong called.

The flop came {6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{q-Hearts}, both player acted very slowly en route to checking, and the turn was the {8-Spades}.

"You have me covered?" Khan asked Duong, who told him he did indeed have more chips.

Khan led out for 35,000, Duong moved all in, and Khan called.

Khan: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Duong: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

The {7-Spades} completed the board, and Khan doubled through. Doung was crippled, and eliminated shortly thereafter.

Khan KO'd

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Junayed Khan - KO'd
Junayed Khan - KO'd

Junayed Khan raised to 10,000 on the button, Mauricio Dasilva called in the small blind, and Shankar Pillai three-bet to 60,000 out of the big blind. Khan moved all in, Dasilva folded, and Pillai casually tossed forward a single T25,000 chip, signifying a call.

Khan: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Pillai: {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}

The dealer rapped the table, burned a card, and deliver an action flop of {5-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs}. Pillai flopped a set of fives, but Khan was still drawing live with two clubs.

The turn was a third club - the {8-Clubs} - giving Khan a flush, but the river was a second eight - the {8-Diamonds} - giving Pillai a full house.

After the crazy runout, Khan was eliminated and Pillai is up to 570,000 chips.

Borrero Busts in Massive Cooler

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Miguel Borrero - 21st Place
Miguel Borrero - 21st Place

"Ohhhhhh no!" Miguel Borrero blurted, shooting out of his chair on Table 3.

When we arrived on the scene, the board was completed {8-}{7-}{5-}{6-}{5-}. Miguel Borrero had {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} in front of him for sixes full of fives, but he was pipped by Laurence Wolf's {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} for a better full house.

According to Jeff Madsen, Borrero bet out on the flop and Wolf put in a raise. Borrero called. On the turn, Borrero check-called a bet, and the money went all in on the river.

Borrero collected himself then exited the tournament area, while Wolf is up to 1.5 million chips.

Robson Barbosa Eliminated Alan Wentz Then Gives Some Back to Jewook Oh

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Alan Wentz
Alan Wentz

Alan Wentz raised in early position and Robson Barbosa made it 61,000 to go. It was folded back to Wentz who moved all in.

"I can't fold this," said Barbosa as he announced a call with {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}.

Wentz turned over {5-Clubs}{5-Spades} and would quickly fall behind when the flop came {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. He pleaded for a five but the turn was the {2-Hearts} and the river was the {4-Clubs} and our Day 1 chip leader was eliminated in 18th place.

The very next hand Barbosa would send some of those chips over to Jewook Oh when he folded {Q-}{Q-} face up on a {10-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades} board while saying "biggest laydown I've ever made." Oh continues to sit near the top of the leader board.

Kovyazin: {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Stefanski: {k-}{10-}

The board came {q-}{7-}{6-}{10-}{9-}, and Stefanski was eliminated.

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
David Tuthill - 16th Place
David Tuthill - 16th Place

David Tuthill opened for a raise in early position, Abraham Korotki three-bet to 75,000 near the button, and Tuthill moved all in for around 400,000. Korotki called.

Korotki: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Tuthill: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

The dealer fanned {7-Spades}{k-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}, pushing Korotki into the lead, and leaving Tuthill drawing to a runner-runner straight or a two-outer. The {9-Hearts} on the turn eliminated all straight possibilities, and the {6-Hearts} on the river ended the hand entirely.

Tuthill exited in 16th place, while Korotki is back up to a million chips.

Mauricio Dasilva was all in and at risk with {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs} preflop against Abraham Korotki's {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, and the wired sixes held up on a board of {10-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}.

Korotki recouped some of his recent losses, chipping up to around 1.3 million chips, while Dasilva exited in 15th place.

Kunuk Shin Eliminated in 14th Place ($10,040)

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Bryan Choi - 14th Place
Bryan Choi - 14th Place

Kunuk Shin open-shoved for his last 169,000 in the cutoff, Bryan Choi called on the button, and both players in the blinds folded.

Shin: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Choi: {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

The dealer fanned a flop of {6-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, giving Choi a set of sixes and leaving Shin in dire straights, but the {8-Diamonds} on the turn gave him eight outs to chop.

There was no chop, however, as Choi made quads when the {6-Hearts} completed the board. Shin exited in 14th place, earning $10,040.
