Volpe Secures a Double, Leaves Taylor with Crumbs

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Stuart Taylor moved all in for 965,000 with {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts} from the cutoff and Paul Volpe called from the big blind for his last 885,000 with {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}.

Paul Volpe: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Stuart Taylor: {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

The flop came down {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}, smashing Volpe with a pair of aces and he took a commanding lead. The {7-Diamonds} cemented the pot for Volpe as he then had Taylor drawing dead to the {7-Spades} river card.

Paul Volpe opened from the cutoff to 175,000 with {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Peter Walsworth moved all in with {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} in the small blind. Stuart Taylor called his remaining 160,000 from the small blind, holding {a-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and Volpe folded, leaving just two.

Stuart Taylor: {a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Peter Walsworth: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

The dealer fanned out {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}, pushing Walsworth even further in front with his flopped jack.

A {4-Hearts} turn brought some outs for Taylor to take down the pot but the {9-Spades} river was not one as Walsworth scooped, sending Taylor out in sixth for a career-high cash of $57,002.

Walsworth Adds Another Pot Thanks to a Solid Read

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

David Jackson opened from the cutoff with {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}, Peter Walsworth, Nikolai Markov, and Robert Chasen all called to see the {j-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop.

Action checked to Walsworth who held {9-Spades}{8-Spades}, he bet 330,000 with his pair of nines and only Jackson called to see the {k-Spades} turn card. Both players checked to the {4-Diamonds} river where Jackson fired in 1,125,000, holding just ace-high.

Walsworth thought for around a minute before he elected to call and Jackson turned over his ace-high. Walsworth rolled over his {9-Spades}{8-Spades} for just a pair of nines but more than enough to take down the healthy-sized pot from Jackson.

Action folded around to Robert Chasen in the small blind, he looked down at {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and then moved all in for 880,000. Paul Volpe called with his {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts} and Chasen was then at risk.

Robert Chasen: {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Paul Volpe: {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

The flop rolled out {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, giving Chasen a commanding lead. A {10-Hearts} turn card gave Volpe many outs to send Chasen home and the {q-Diamonds} river was one of them, completing a straight for Volpe who pulled in the pot, eliminating Chasen from the tournament in fifth place.
