In the Money

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

A player in late position raised to 12,000 and Frank Funaro defended his big blind. They went heads up to the {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop and Funaro led out with a bet of 27,000 leaving himself just 5,000 behind.

His opponent called and Funaro tossed his last 5,000 chip into the pot just as the {8-Diamonds} hit the turn.

His opponent quickly called turning over {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and Funaro showed {a-Spades}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} for a flopped set of tens.

The {j-Spades} hit the river and the table erupted as the player improved to a straight to score the knockout. Funaro was sent to the rail and the remaining nine players are now all in the money and guaranteed at least $559 for their efforts.
