The third event of the 2019 Borgata Fall Poker Open starts today with the $600 Deepstack Kick-Off set to begin at 11 a.m. local time. Last year saw Frank Lagodich as the last man standing, pulling in a $128,359 for his first-place finish, after besting a 1,474 entry field.

There will be a total of four starting flights, all of which will play a total of 15 levels that are 30-minutes in length. Day 2 will have 50-minute levels and the final day has full hour-long levels. Late registration will remain open through until the beginning of level 13 and all players have unlimited re-entries until this time.

A 15-minute break will occur after every four levels of play and there will be no dinner break on any Day 1 that is slated. All starting flight survivors will combine for Day 2, on Friday, November 8 to battle it out for a shot of making the final day.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be here throughout the event, bringing you all the action as the tournament unfolds, so stay tuned.

Jackson Sits Down, Doubles Up

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante
David Jackson
David Jackson

David Jackson entered the tournament and instantly started making waves as he put his aggressive style to the test. Jackson lost the first few hands he played but managed to find a double just moments after.

A player in the small blind three-bet to 4,400 and Jackson called to see the {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop. The small blind player continued for 5,000, Jackson called and a {7-Spades} landed on the turn.

The player moved all in and Jackson snap-called for less, putting his 14,700 into the middle. His opponent showed {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} and was drawing dead after Jackson revealed {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for a turned full house.

The {5-Hearts} completed the board and Jackson scooped the pot, doubling through his opponent early in the day.

Jackson swiftly showed his {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} for the top set of aces in the cooler of a hand. A {k-Clubs} completed the board and Jackson secured a full double through Lind after both flopped a set.

Opponent: {a-}{q-}
Opponent: {q-}{q-}
Ralph Macri: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Macri was well in the lead with his set of jacks, but needed to dodge some outs to take down the pot. A {10-Spades} turn card came down on the turn, improving Macri to a boat and the river rolled out clean, cementing the pot for Macri who eliminated two players and now has the tournament chip lead.
