Jones Leading Flight E

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Ryan Jones
Ryan Jones

The field is very large so it is difficult to know for certain, but it appears that Ryan Jones is leading Flight E with about 650,000.

Jones cashed five times at this summer's World Series of Poker and two of those were five figures. He got more than $1 million in career earnings, two WSOP Circuit rings, and three six-figured cashes, one of which came right here at Borgata in the 2015 Winter Poker Open $560 Deep Stack Kick Off NLH event ($119,582 for 4th place).

Davis Takes the Rest from Song

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

The read {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades} and there was around 35,000 in the pot. Stephen Song moved his remaining 26,200 into the middle and Billy Davis snap-called, putting Song at risk.

Stephen Song: {8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Billy Davis: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

The {a-Spades} turn fell and Song was now drawing dead to the {8-Hearts} river card. Davis took down the pot with his three aces, eliminating Song from the tournament.

It probably will not be the last of Song that you see in this event as he will almost certainly be firing another bullet.

Color-Up Break Time

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

End of Level 12 and time for another break. During this 15-minute respite from the action, the black 100 chips will be colored up and removed from play.

When play resumes and Level 13 begins, registration will close for this flight. Tables will start to break down rapidly and be reset for Flight F, due to begin at 6pm, staring in the rear of the Event Center.

Level: 13

Blinds: 2,000/4,000

Ante: 4,000

Registration Closed for Flight E

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Players are back from the break and registration is closed with an unofficial entry count of 839 for Flight E. That brings the overall total through the first five flights to 2,020, just 123 shy of the number needed to cover the $750,000 guarantee.

That should be covered before the final flight begins at 6pm.

Kassin Drops an Opponent

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

A player moved all in for 36,000 from middle position and Charles Kassin shoved over the top. Everyone else folded and the two turned the cards over.

Opponent: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Charles Kassin: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}

The board ran out {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and Kassin took down the pot with his three jacks, eliminating his opponent from the tournament.

Scotto Off to Hot Start After Break

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

The turned board read {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and a player shoved their remaining chips in the middle. Jerry Scotto called and the two tabled their hands.

Scotto showed {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} for a set of dimes, his opponent tabled {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for a flush and straight draw. The {8-Clubs} completed the board and Scotto pulled in the pot, eliminating his opponent as he extended his chip lead.

Koliner Makes Tough Call

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
John Koliner
John Koliner

In a blind vs. blind confrontation, Seat 8 (sb) and John Koliner (bb) got to the river with a board of {j-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Spades}{k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}. Seat 8 bet 7,500 and it took Koliner a moment to consider. He said something suspecting the small blind might have "ace-king", but opted to call.

Seeing his opponent table {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} for a pair of Jacks was much better news as his {a-Clubs}{j-Spades} was the same pair with superior kicker. That pot took Koliner's stack up to 345,000.
