Spagnuolo Still Around

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Marguerite Spagnuolo
Marguerite Spagnuolo

Marguerite Spagnuolo was down to only 6,000 chips before registration closed and said she was "trying to bust out, but they wouldn't let" her.

She's managed to grind that 6,000 up to about 95,000 and is still hanging around as tables are breaking down quickly.

The entrepreneur and creator of "Grandmas 2 Share" is a regular on the felt here at Borgata, although her business keeps her away more and more. She has two Ladies event titles on her poker resume, one from Borgata and one from the WSOP Circuit.

Unlike most tournament where the chip lead changes frequently, the top two haven't budged in this event.

John Malvasio is still in front with 390,000. John McGuinness is right on his heels with 380,000.

A new player joining them, near the top of the counts, is Bob Christensen, playing ~375,000.

Min Out; Liu Survives

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Jackie Liu

Nan Min got her lasts chips in on the flop with a board reading {q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Spades}, but her {k-Clubs}{9-Hearts} (middle pair) was beat by her opponent's {q-Clubs}{4-Spades} (top pair). When running sevens completed the board, she was eliminated.

Jump to the next table over and Jackie Liu was all-in pre-flop, but got no takers and survived to continue play.

McGuinness Leads at Dinner

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Carlos Alvarado

Level 15 is done and players have been rewarded with a dinner break. Play will resume at 8:30pm.

Just before dinner, Andrew Klein jammed over the top of a 16,000 bet by Charles Kassin on a flop of {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. After Kassin folded, Klein showed his pocket queens.

John McGuinness is the chip leader as of the dinner break. "I won three flips in a row," he said, explaining how he's got nearly 500,000. His brother Mike is out, however.

Carlos Alvarado is climbing rapidly, already up to 348,000. "It's all for her," he says, showing a photo of his newborn baby girl Lily.
