Welcome to PokerNews' live coverage of Day 3 of the 2017 Cash Game Festival Slovenia at Perla Casino, located on the border of Italy in Nova Gorica.

Yesterday's action featured seven tables of small and mid-stakes games in a variety of poker variants including no-limit hold'em, pot-limit Omaha and Sviten Special (also known as Drawmaha).

Perla Casino regular Federico Drassich was the star of the show on the feature tables, walking away as the biggest winner with a profit of almost €2,700. However, there was even bigger action that went until the sun rose on a €5/€5 pot-limit Omaha table where everyone was deep stacked and seemingly getting all their money in the middle hand after hand.

One of the great things about the Cash Game Festival, is that it gives players a new opportunity to learn new games. When Janar Kokk and his crew arrived in the evening, hugs were exchanged before a game of Sviten Special broke out. The game featured some experienced players along with some players playing for their first or second times including Cash Game Festival commentator Brandon Allen, Cash Game Festival technical guru Tony Hitrov, Cash Game Festival regular Daniel Näsman and a local Slovenian player Andrej.

The Sviten Special game lasted close to 7 a.m. before the crew hit the breakfast buffet at the hotel. Another game that also went deep into the night was a €1/€2 no-limit hold'em table that players were eagerly waiting to play on since a pair of the group Scandanivan Hunks that performed the night before wanted to get into the action. The "hunks" held their own and after a few hours of play walked away with profit against what appeared to be a tough table full of experienced players.

The Cash Game Festival is also about bonding off the poker tables as well. Many players headed for afternoon of action and adventure at Soca Fun Park yesterday. Today many of the players will be treated to a special dinner at On'Italy. Also on the schedule later on in the festival is a rocking VIP party at Pulse Arena on Saturday and a visit to the world-renowned caves on Sunday.

Today is set to be the biggest day thus far this festival both in terms of the number of tables and the stakes being spread. The early lower stakes feature table will begin at 5:40 p.m. CET on a 20-minute delay followed by a later televised table at higher stakes at 8:40 p.m. CET. You check out the action on the televised feature tables here on PokerNews as well as on the Cash Game Festival website and on the Cash Game Festival Twitch channel once action kicks off. In the meantime, you can head to the Twitch channel to see some of the action from the previous two days.

Coverage will kick off at approximately 5 p.m. CET. Stay tuned at PokerNews as we report the latest and greatest news from the 2017 Cash Game Festival Slovenia.

Straddle, Straddle, Straddle!

A bunch of smiling faces just entered the poker room and started a new €1/2 no-limit hold'em table. Among those playing are Cash Game Festival regulars Jack Fenton, Peter La Terra and Daniel Näsman.

Also joining them are two players from yesterday's early feature table in United Kingdom's Michael Fletcher and Sweden's Per Lindholm. Estonia's Ardi Valgemäe is normally the behind the scenes clicker and been winning both on the poker and roulette tables has also joined in on the fun. A couple of other players sat down after a few hands to round off the table.

The group is visibly having fun with a passer-by sharing that it looks like a great €1/€2 table. La Terra joked that the limits were €4/€8 before clarifying, "straddle, straddle, straddle" while laughing.

Federico Drassich

The first feature table of the day just kicked off with players facing off at €1/€2 no limit hold'em. Here is a look at some of the players.

Italy's John Catena in Seat 1 is an experienced poker veteran having played the game for a decade. This is the first time he has appeared on a Cash Game Festival feature table.

Federico Drassich in Seat 2 makes another return to the feature table. So far, he has been the biggest winner in any single session after shipping almost €2,700 on yesterday's late feature table. Drassich was witnessed playing throughout the night, and shared he was up and down.

Another Italian, Alessandro Natale, is in Seat 3 and shared that he loves suited connectors.

Mauro Caden, also from Italy is in Seat 4. The 61-year old shared that he used to be a farmer and that this is his first time playing on a televised poker table despite playing the game for 43 years.

Sweden's Per Lindholm in Seat 7 was yesterday's early feature table big winner. He was full of energy and was snacking on Snickers and bananas before the feature table. Lindholm shared he has had a productive festival on the poker tables and having a great time.

The entertaining Brandon Allen is once again the lead commentator. You can check him and the players out here on PokerNews as well as on the Cash Game Festival website and on the Cash Game Festival Twitch channel.

The feature table is always very interesting, however, this one even more so seems to be full of action.

A pair of Italians just battled it out. The action began innocently enough with Italy's John Catena raising to €7 with {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}. From one seat over, Federico Drassich called with {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} before his neighbor Alessandro Natale three-bet to €40 with {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}.

Play folded back around to Catena who fired out a four-bet to €120. Drassich folded before Natale five-bet to €310 and Catena called.

Catena hit top pair on the {4-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop, but was still behind the pocket queens of his opponent who fired out for €195.

Catena called and was in trouble and drawing dead after the {Q-Diamonds} hit the turn. He called an all-in bet to create a huge pot worth €1,600, which was shipped to Natale after the {10-Hearts} completed the board on the river.

Mauro Caden Doubles

There has been lots of action on the €1/€2 feature table. Simone Montanarella joined the feature table about half an hour ago and was involved in a recent hand with Mauro Caden.

Montanarella raised to €7 with {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} and got calls from four other players including Mauro Caden who was holding {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. After the action folded to Montanarella, he fired out a continuation bet of €20 after the {K-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{7-Spades} appeared on the flop to give him top pair. Everyone folded but Caden who called with a flush draw.

Caden checked when the {6-Diamonds} appeared on the turn to complete his flush. Montanarella then bet €50 with his top pair and nut flush draw before Caden check-raised to €120. Montanarella opted to flat-call.

Caden then shoved his remaining stack of €228 into the pot after the {9-Clubs} completed the board on the river. Montanarella called and the dealer awarded Caden a pot worth almost €800.

Alessandro Natale Notches Big Win

Alessandro Natale was easily not only the biggest winner on the most recent feature table, but also on any €1/€2 feature table of Cash Game Festival Slovenia with a profit well north of €900.

This could also set a new record for the most profit on a CGF televised €1/€2 no-limit hold'em table in the festival's history. There is now a 30 minute break on the stream. A new batch of players will be competing at higher stakes of €5/€5 no-limit hold'em. You will be able to check out the action at 9 p.m. CET here on PokerNews as well as on the Cash Game Festival website and on the Cash Game Festival Twitch channel.
