Top Pair Good for Moscati

Level 10 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Vincent Moscati
Vincent Moscati

A player had put in 6,000 under the gun and was facing a raise to 14,000 from Vincent Moscati on a board reading {7-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{8-Clubs} with a small pile of chips already in the center. The player thought for about 10 seconds and then called.

The under-the-gun player checked the river {2-Diamonds} and Moscati checked behind, taking the hand to showdown where Moscati's opponent showed {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a missed nut-flush draw and double gutshot straight draw. Moscati tabled {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for top pair and it was good to earn him the pot.

Konarske Building Back

Level 10 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Eddy Konarske
Eddy Konarske

Eddy Konarske opened to 4,000 in early position and received a call from the cutoff. The small blind re-jammed for 35,000 and Konarske came over the top as well, forcing the cutoff out of the hand.

"You're probably good," said the small blind as he tabled {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

Konarske had a dominating {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} but saw the percentages roughly leveled as the flop came {10-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. Despite seeing a three outer come, Konarske had too many outs to miss as running {3-Hearts}{k-Hearts} re-improved him to top pair, top kicker and scored him the knockout.

Konarske confirmed that he had been up to around 180,000 earlier in the day and is now back in six-figure territory.

Welch Done and Dusted

Level 10 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Jason Welch
Jason Welch

An all-in preflop scenario just transpired between Ryan Dodson and Jason Welch that left Welch dry on chips. According to Dodson, he opened to 3,000 in early position and action folded around to Welch in the big blind, who re-jammed for less than a starting stack. Dodson called.

Jason Welch: {j-}{j-}
Ryan Dodson: {k-}{k-}

The runout wound up changing nothing and Welch's chips were sent across the table to Dodson, resulting in his elimination from the tournament. Though Welch's Main Event run has come to an end, he currently sits second on the overall CPC points leader board, and will likely be a near-lock for one of the five seats being awarded to next Wednesday's $3,000 High Roller, which will also be covered by PokerNews.
