Wassholm Ousts Lamprecht

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Hans Haakon Lamprecht open jammed for less than 20 big blinds and was called by Aki Petteri Wassholm.

Hans Haakon Lamprecht: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}
Aki Petteri Wassholm: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}

Lamprecht was ahead in the classic flip situation but the odds went slightly in the other direction on the {Q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{J-Spades} flop with his opponent flopped having a flush draw, a straight draw, and the possibility to also nail a higher pair.

The {7-Spades} on the turn was an interesting card since it completed Wassholm's flush but also gave Lamprecht a chance to get back into the hand since he now had a set with the possibility of improving to a full house.

However, the {9-Hearts} completed the board on the river and was of no help to Lamprecht. He said good game to his table before leaving the tournament area.

Kokk's Big Slick Eliminates Toikkanen

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Janar Kokk
Janar Kokk

Teemu Toikkanen opened for 2,100 from early position before Janar Kokk three-bet to 6,700 from middle position. Everyone else folded before Toikkanen called.

Toikkanen checked the {6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop before Kokk pushed out his entire stack of blue 5,000 denominated chips. The size of the bet is irrelevant since it more than covered the 14,000 Toikkanen had behind.

Toikkanen went into the tank for two minutes before he called.

Janar Kokk: {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}
Teemu Toikkanen: {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

Toikkanen got out of his seat and watched the hand a foot away even though he was still alive in the hand. His odds to win or chop the hand decreased after the {5-Spades} came on the turn.

The {4-Diamonds} on the river gave Kokk the checkmark and Toikkanen was out of the field unless he decides to reenter.

Fagerström Wins Blind vs. Blind Battle

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Rune Nikolaisen in the small blind and Toni Fagerström in the big blind were both in a short-stacked blind on blind battle that generated about 14,000 in the pot preflop.

Fagerström check-jammed the {5-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop for about 14,000. Nikolaisen who had him covered called.

Rune Nikolaisen: {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Toni Fagerström: {9-Spades}{4-Spades}

Nikolaisen was in the lead with his two-pair looking better than his opponent's top pair. The {7-Spades} came on the turn to open up a flush draw.

Instead of nailing a flush Fagerström locked down a better two pair after the {4-Diamonds} completed the board on the river to double up.

Thoren's Kings No Good Against Am's Aces

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Unfortunately cooler to end the tournament for Johannes Thoren. We caught up with the hand when the chips were already in the middle but Yngve Am shared with us the preflop highlights.

A player limped before Yngve Am raised. Thoren three-bet before Am four-bet jammed effectively covering the almost 30,000 remaining in Thoren's stack. Thoren quickly made the call and the dealer announced a showdown.

Yngve Am: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}
Johannes Thoren: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}

Thoren had some catching up to do despite holding hold'em's second best preflop hand. Fate was not on his side as the {8-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{4-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} board ran all blanks and his Main Event run ended early on Day 2.

Westby Increases His Massive Stack after Kyte Doesn't Get His Diamond

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Tony Andre Westby
Tony Andre Westby

Tony Andre Westby began the day with 86,900 in chips and now has a massive stack of 390,000 after eliminating several opponents.

His latest victim was Norwegian poker pro Jon Kyte who started the day as a short stack and was down to 14,500 when he decided to make a move.

Westby opened to 2,600 from under the gun before Kyte jammed to 14,500 from the small blind. Westby snap called.

Jon Kyte: {K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Tony Andre Westby: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}

Kyte did not like what he saw.

"Why did you have that?" Kyte asked. "Why couldn't you have one of your random hands like eight-seven or jack-ten?"

The {A-Diamonds} was in the hole before the rest of the flop.

"Diamonds, please!" shouted Kyte.

But the rest of the {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{Q-Spades} flop didn't have any other diamonds for Kyte.

The {7-Diamonds} came on the turn and Kyte was asking for cards again.

"Diamond, king, diamond, king," Kyte repeated a few times.

However, the {A-Clubs} came instead of a diamond or a king and Kyte was eliminated.
