Mikko Tiitinen
Mikko Tiitinen

Welcome to Day 2 of the Coolbet Open €550 Main Event at Olympic Park Casino and Hilton Park Hotel located in the heart of the Estonian capital.

Players traveled from near and far, including qualifiers from Chile, to play in the Main Event with a combined 624 entrants joining the field on Day 1 with the Day 1a field attracting 182 entrants and the Day 1b field attracting 624 entrants. This figure is already a Coolbet Open record and a casino record for an international event and will continue to grow as unlimited reentries are still allowed throughout the late registration period that will close after the first blind level is in the books today on Day 2.

A total of 246 players survived with Finland's Mikko Tiitinen entering today's action with a chip leading stack of 245,000. Also in the top five in chip counts to start the day are Arne Borresen (second - 221,300), Mart Rinken (third - 217,500), Kaido Koorits (fourth - 213,500), and Silver Simulak (fifth - 212,900)

Wahl and Ulset Hit the Rail

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Sebastian Wahl
Sebastian Wahl

Sebastian Wahl, who won the inaugural Coolbet Open Main Event in May 2018, jammed {a-}{j-} from late position for about 20,000. Ruben Ulset rejammed for slightly more with {q-}{j-} before Nikolajs Zalunins called them both with {k-}{k-}.

The cowboys held strong and Zalunins won the hand. Both Wahl and Ulset still have the option to reenter.

Kyte Eliminated

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Jon Kyte
Jon Kyte

Jon Kyte was noticed exiting the tournament area. He shared with PokerNews that he three-bet jammed for about eight big blinds with {a-}{8-} and lost a flip after Trine-Lise Lundegard, who originally opened from under the gun, called with {7-}{7-}.

The board ran all blanks for Kyte and unfortunately for the Norwegian his Main Event is over.

Siljander Among the Chip Leaders After Eliminating Sahamies

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Mathias Siljander
Mathias Siljander

Mathias Siljander took third in the second-ever Coolbet Open. That wasn't good enough, and he won the last Coolbet Open Main Event.

He is making a strong run for a third final table out of four-ever Coolbet Open Main Events. It doesn't hurt to get a little luck.

Siljander and Ilari Sahamies were both all-in with {a-}{k-} and the board ran out to a flush for Siljander to win a pot of more than 400,000 and to put Sahamies on crumbs. A hand or two later, Siljander dusted off the rest of Sahamies' stack when his {a-}{k-} held against {j-}{8-}.

Quad Kings for Sootla

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Ranno Sootla
Ranno Sootla

Ranno Sootla opened from late position and Bjorn Fisue defended from the big blind. Bjorn Fisue bet all three streets including jamming the river on the {2-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{k-Spades} board and Sootla called down the entire way. Fisue mucked his hand after the call even though he in theory has to show his hand first and Sootla turned over {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} for quad kings.

Nikolajs Zalunins
Nikolajs Zalunins

Nikolajs Zalunins opened the button before he called a jam for 131,000 from Taago Tamm in the big blind.

Taago Tamm: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Nikolajs Zalunins: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}

The hand was a flip when the money got in but Tamm pulled well ahead after he paired the {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{k-Spades} flop. The {4-Diamonds} came on the turn and Tamm improved to a full house after the {6-Hearts} completed the board on the river.

Iglesias Eliminates Mirza

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Steven Iglesias
Steven Iglesias

Steven Iglesias jammed for about 200,000 into a pot of around the same with the {9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{2-Clubs} on the board and Masse Mirza who had about 120,000 remaining in his stack made the call.

"Sorry bro, I have the nuts," said Iglesias in a genuine tone.

"Oh really," said Mirza disappointingly.

Iglesias turned over {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} for the nut-straight and Mirza turned over {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} to show he was strong with a set as well.
