Exciting Final Day Ahead at the Coolbet Open Main Event with 34 Remaining

Coolbear
Coolbear

Welcome to the final day of the inaugural Coolbet Open €550 Main Event at the Olympic Park Casino and the Hilton Park Hotel.

The field has trimmed down from 521 entries from the two opening days and the start of Day 2 to just 34 players to start the day. The remaining field will battle it out until a winner is crowned as the third Coolbet Open champion in the festival's history and walk away with a massive €60,100 payday.

Finland's Johnny Lindroos is in the driver's seat to enter the final day with a huge stack of 1,241,000 and blinds starting off at 6,000/12,000 with an ante of 12,000. Close on his tail is Sweden's Erik Lövgren with 1,180,000 in chips.

Two players that finished on the podium at the last Coolbet Open Main Event are very much in contention with last Main Event's third-place finisher Mathias Siljander from Finland sitting on a fourth-place stack of 778,000 and Mats Albertsen from Norway looking for back to back wins starting the final day with a fifth-place stack of 674,000.

In addition to the Main Event, there are many exciting side events taking place today including Day 2 of the €330 Pokerisivut Open at 12 p.m., the €1k Coolbet Six-Max with a €1,100 buy-in at 2 p.m, the €110 Coolbet Ladies Event at 3 p.m., the €220 Open Face Chinese Pineapple at 3 p.m., the €110 Coolbet Open Bounty FreezeOut at 5 p.m., the €110 Pot Limit Omaha at 7 p.m., the €220 Coolbet Saturday Turbo at 9 p.m., and the €60 Short Deck Hold'em at 11 p.m.

Auset Takes Out Harstad

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Nils Harstad
Nils Harstad

Adam Shriki opened to 40,000 from middle position before Anders Auset three-bet to 120,000 from late position. Nils Harsted had about one big blind and called before Shriki folded.

Anders Auset: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Nils Harstad {7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}

Harstad needed some held and he paired the {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades} on the flop. He was unable to get two pair or better to stay in the tournament with the {10-Spades} coming on the turn followed by the {k-Hearts} on the river.

Tammel Flips Mecs Out of the Main Event

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Mate Mecs
Mate Mecs

At nearly the same time Harstad was eliminated, Mate Mecs headed out the door in 20th place for €1,950. He was all-in with {6-Hearts}{6-Spades} against Tarmo Tammel with {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} in a pot of around 600,000.

Mecs was ahead after the {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop and stayed ahead after the {5-Diamonds} came on the turn. However, Tammel rivered broadway after the {q-Spades} completed the board and Mecs was ousted from the tournament.

Jonassen Eliminates Kaupmees in a Huge Pot

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Ronald Walquist
Ronald Walquist

Ronald Walquist jammed for about 400,000 into a splashed pot that appeared to be around the same with the {2-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{7-Spades} on the board and was called by Chriss Jonassen.

Chriss Jonassen: {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}
Ronald Walquist: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}

Walquist was up against a set and needed an eight for the set or a six or jack to complete a straight. The {5-Spades} came on the river instead and Walquist was eliminated in 19th place.

Jaana Kindsigo Eliminated in 16th Place (€2,350)

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Jaana Kindsigo
Jaana Kindsigo

Jaana Kindsigo three-bet jammed for 550,000 over the open from Adam Shriki. Shriki made a snap call and it was off to the races with Kindsigo holding {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and Shriki holding {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}.

Kindsigo was very behind in the race after Shriki nailed two-pair on the {k-Spades}{q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} flop. Shriki improved to a nut flush after the {6-Diamonds} came on the turn and the {10-Diamonds} completed the board on the river and Kindsigo was eliminated in 16th place for €2,350.

Johnny Lindroos Eliminated in 15th Place (€2,350)

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Johnny Lindroos
Johnny Lindroos

Johnny Lindroos began the day as the chip leader but will not make the final table. He lost a big pot against Chriss Jonassen when he got it in good with {a-}{a-} against his opponent's {10-}{10-}. But a {10-} hit the flop to bring him down to just ten big blinds.

The rest of his stack went in a short while later. Lindroos jammed {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} from under the gun and was called by Jonassen in the cutoff with {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}.

The {8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} board was unable to save Lindroos and he was eliminated in 15th place for €2,350. The remaining 14 players are now each guaranteed a €2,900 payout.

Raul Kaupmees Eliminated in 14th Place (€2,900)

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Raul Kaupmees
Raul Kaupmees

With blinds still at 15,000/30,000 at the feature table, Raul Kaupmees jammed his four big blind stack with {a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} from the cutoff and got a call from Tarmo Tammel with {k-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} in the big blind.

Kaupmees was ahead but not for long as Tammel had top pair after the {8-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Spades} on the flop. Neither the {4-Diamonds} on the turn nor the {10-Spades} on the river was able to save Kaupmees and he was eliminated in 14th place for €2,900.

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Renta Eline Kris Gatos
Renta Eline Kris Gatos

Chriss Jonassen opened to 90,000 from the button and Renta Eline Kris Gatos defended from the big blind.

Gatos jammed for about 290,000 after the {7-Hearts}{10-Spades}{7-Spades} came on the flop and Jonassen called.

Renta Eline Kris Gatos: {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Chriss Jonassen: {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

Gatos was in for a world of hurt needing a two outer to save his tournament. The {4-Spades} on the turn and the {4-Clubs} on the river weren't cards he was looking for and he went out in 13th place for €2,900.

After Gatos hit the rail, the remaining 12 players each got a guaranteed pay jump with both 11th and 12th places paying €3,500.

Peter Hedlund open-jammed from early position for nine big blinds. Mathias Siljander called from the small blind and Fabien Schweizer was all in for a few chips less in the big blind.

Peter Hedlund: {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Mathias Siljander: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Fabien Schweizer: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
