Welcome to Day 1b of the 2019 Coolbet Open €550 Main Event hosted at Olympic Park Casino and Hilton Park Hotel.

Yesterday, the Main Event kicked off in style by attracting 130 entrants or 13 more than the last Coolbet Open Main Event in May which set a record-breaking field in Estonia for the largest attendance in an international event.

Sweden's Tobias Revenas topped yesterday's field by bagging a huge stack of 293,500 in chips followed by United Kingdom's Barry Cobb (second - 171,800), Estonia's Ottomar Ladva (third - 156,300), Finland's Teemu Salminen (fourth - 145,000), and Norway's Espen Sandvik (fifth - 137,000).

Today's field size is expected to be much bigger for the second and final opening flight with the line out the door last night for players checking into the Hilton Tallinn Park hotel.

As was the case yesterday, players will begin the deep-stacked tournament with 30,000 in chips and blinds increasing every 45-minutes. Day 1b features nine blind levels with the action for the day expecting to end at approximately 8:30 p.m. EEST.

Players will have unlimited opportunities to build a big stack for Day 2, which features a deeper structure of 60 minute blind levels. Not only can anyone reenter all day today, players can also re-enter up until the conclusion of the first blind level of Day 2 at around 12 p.m. EEST tomorrow. Also, players not happy with the number of chips they bagged can void their stack and start with a fresh stack of 30,000 in chips.

There is plenty of action each day at the Coolbet Open with 30 side events complementing the showcased Main Event. Tournament Director Teresa Nousiainen organized the schedule in a way that even if players are playing the Main Event they will have a chance to also play the festival's marquis side events as well.

Two of today's side events include the €220 Drawmaha Championship at 1:30 p.m. EEST, the Coolbet Open €110 Afternoon Turbo at 5 p.m. EEST, the second and final day of the Coolbet €330 NLHE Deepstack at 9 p.m. EEST, the €220 Pot Limit Omaha at 9 p.m. EEST, and the Coolbet Open €110 Thursday Turbo at 11 p.m. EEST.

Coolbet Ambassador Joel Lindpere is back in action after an unsuccessful first bullet in yesterday's Day 1a field.

While he is better known as the best footballer to come out of Estonia having played for years on the national team and for the New York Red Bulls and Chicago Fire, he is more than adept at the poker tables as well.

He has two five-figure cashes including a runner-up performance in the 2016 Estonian Championships €300 Main Event for €11,900.

Also back in action after an unsuccessful Day 1a is Coolbet COO Anders Karlsen.

Jan Svendsen

The Day 1b field has already grown to 116 entrants.

Coolbet Founder Jan Svendsen is back in action for his fourth bullet after three unsuccessful attempts yesterday. Svendsen has found success in Tallinn before, albeit more than a decade ago. In 2008, he took second place in the Olympic Open €1,050 Championship for €18,732.

Also in the mix is David Levy, who returns to Tallinn for the Coolbet Open for the third time. Levy made it deep in the first-ever Coolbet Open Main Event in May 2018 when he took 19th place for €1,750.

Drawmaha Festival About to Begin

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante
Drawmaha Festival
Drawmaha Festival

The Drawmaha Festival is a new addition to the Coolbet Open. The €220 Drawmaha Championship is about to begin. Players from Sweden, Norway, and all around Europe have been anxiously waiting to compete in what they refer to as Sviten Special.

Drawmaha or Sviten Special is a unique game with tons of action as it combines both five-card pot-limit Omaha and five-card draw in the same hand.

Players are dealt five cards and there is a round of betting. A flop is a dealt and another round of betting takes place. Any players remaining in the hand at this point can draw zero to five cards. If one card is requested it is face-up for everyone to see. The player has a choice whether to keep it or request a new card face down. Otherwise, all exchanged cards are face down.

A turn is dealt followed by a round of betting before the final bets take place after the river is dealt. Half the pot is awarded to the best five card draw hand while the other half of the pot is awarded to the best five-card Omaha hand.

Field Bigger Than Yesterday

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

There are 131 players reading on the big board and more waiting to take their seats. This is already bigger than the 130 entrants that battled it out during Day 1a.

Late registration and unlimited re-entries are open the entire day and don't close until after the first blind level of tomorrow's Day 2.
