DeepStacks Poker Tour Kicks Off in Niagara

Welcome to the first-ever DeepStacks Poker Tour event held in Seneca Niagara, otherwise know as the Western New York Poker Championship. This event marks the first of the DeepStacks Poker Tour and is set to be a great one with a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool and plenty of action. It is also the first-ever televised poker event in Western New York, boasting a buy-in of $1,500, 50-minute blind levels and 25,000 in starting chips.

The event kicks off at noon local time and is a three-day event with the final table scheduled for February 19. Some of the expected names on hand are Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi, Karina Jett, Justin Smith, Mike Matusow and Adam Levy.

The beautiful Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel will play host to the event and as the official media partner of the tour, PokerNews will be on hand for all of the live coverage. You won't want to miss anything, so be sure to stay tuned for the updates coming fast and furious shortly.

Flowers Blooming

DeepStacks Pro Randal Flowers is off to a fast start here.

We caught him in a battle of the blinds, check-raising an 1,100-chip bet on a {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} board, making it 3,050.

"Do you really have a hand?" his opponent asked.

"I just know you don't have enough to call," Flowers responded as the table erupted in laughter and his opponent mucked.

Early Riser

Friend of DeepStacks Rich Belsky is already up to 38,500 here in Level 1. Belsky, seated at the same table as Robert Croak, told us he made a straight and flopped within minutes of each other to give his stack a nice boost. Belsky is the business manager for Mike Matusow and also helped bring Croak to the DeepStacks team.
