Swings & Roundabouts

There are a number of players here today who have endured roller-coaster rides, but perhaps none more so than Roland de Wolfe.

After seeing his pocket kings outdrawn by A-Q for a circa 20,000 pot, de Wolfe struck back by doubling through with aces versus nines a few hands later.

As a result, the Full Tilt man is now on around 15,000, although it's difficult to tell as his chips are sprawled in front of him in typical de Wolfe fashion.

Feed the Devilfish

Devilfish is sitting at a table with the likes of Barry Greenstein and Michaela Johansson. Devilfish is dressed like a 20-something Scandi poker player with an excess of personal panache which includes plenty of bling. He is sporting his trademarked Devilfish rings and sipping a glass of white wine. The staff is handing out food to the players which includes bowls of curry and some sort of fish dish.

"We have vegetable curry," said the food server.

"Ship it over," screamed Devilfish.

"We also have salmon," she continued.

"Ship it over," screamed Devilfish before he paused and said. "Wait is it all on one plate?"

Devilfish lost some chips early and sat on a stack worth 6,900.

Stuart Rutter Doubles Through

Andre Santos raised to 550 preflop from middle position, Stuart Rutter made it a total of 2,000 to play and Santos announced all-in. But before he'd barely completed his announcement, Rutter's chips were in the middle with {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}, comfortably ahead of Santos' {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

"Yes, come on!" exclaimed a jubilant Rutter as the {J-Spades}{9-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} board blanked out. As a result of this triumph, Rutter is now back up to 13,000.

Down, But Not Out

The press were lurking on the rail, forks aloft, and patiently awaiting Ivey's exit so they could spike him in the noggin and say, "He's done." But with 1,800 in chips he was down, but not out, and when he found aces in the hole, he was duly paid off by T-7 on a 7-3-2-A-5 board. As a result, Ivey now has just under 4,000.

Natasha Ellis Eliminated

The action limped its way around to the small blind who made it 700 to play, Natasha Ellis pushed all in from the big blind for 3,000 and the small blind snap-called. Ellis was in cracking shape with aces versus queens, but it was her opponent doing the cracking, the queen on the flop of a Q-5-5-3-2 sending her to the rail in bad beat regaling circumstances.
