Patrik Antonius Doubles Up

On a flop of {9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts} Patrik Antonius was able to get his short stack into the middle against his unknown opponent and the cards were flipped.

Antonius: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}
Opponent: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}

The turn and river landed {2-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Antonius found a much needed double up to amazingly have his chip stack back to around his starting stack of 15,000 chips.

Deeb Almost Doubles

A short-stacked Freddy Deeb just gave himself a little extra breathing room after taking down a recent pot against an unknown opponent. Deeb made it 400 to go from early position and was called by the button. The flop came {10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{A-Spades} and both players checked. The turn brought the {2-Spades} and Deeb tossed a single blue 1,000 chip into the middle; his opponent called.

The last card to fall was the {Q-Diamonds} and both players knuckled the table. At the showdown, Freddy tabled {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades} which was good enough to take down the pot. He now has just over 9,000 in chips.

Who Let The Dog Out?

Erick Lindgren
Erick Lindgren
Erick "E-Dog" Lindgren is starting to take control of his table by entering, and winning, most pots.

In two recent pots he check-raised his opponent off his hand, and followed it up by cracking a set of sixes with a king-high flush.

In a third hand, E-Dog folded to a flop continuation bet stating that his opponent "had a monster" on a {Q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop. His opponent flashed a queen, and E-Dog queried "Is that all?" before his opponent revealed a third queen!

Lindgren seems to be very in tune with his game today and is building nicely with around 19,000 in chips.

Noah's Nemesis

Noah Boeken
Noah Boeken
Noah Boeken built a nice stack early today, but now seems to have found a nemesis on his table that he is struggling to overcome. The two have been exchanging plenty of chips and verbal warfare throughout the afternoon.

In a recent hand both players toyed with each other by refusing to view the flop or turn, with both streets checked in the dark by both players.

The river arrived to produce a board of {4-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{9-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{10-Spades} and Boeken's opponent announced "pot" in full knowledge that a pot bet is not a valid bet amount in No Limit Holdem. He eventually committed 4,200 into the pot and Boeken grimaced before making the call. His opponent flipped over a set of nines which was too good for Boeken as he flashed a queen before mucking his hand. Boeken is now down to around 17,000 in chips.

Dinner Break, Part 1

Half the field is now on a one-hour dinner break, while the second half will continue to play one-half of a level before their chance to grab one of the hotel's 20 euro cheeseburgers (That's about $27 US!)
