Day 3 Is Upon Us

Sheriff Lapossie
Sheriff Lapossie
Good morning and welcome back to the sunless confines of the Casino Barcelona. Outside the weather's beautiful, but down in the casino basement we're about to get down to serious business as we attempt to cut our 72 runners down to 24.

After we unexpectedly made the money in record time yesterday, all our remaining players are in the black for this EPT already -- but there's a world of difference between the €12,000 they get for 72nd place and the €850,000 on offer for first place. Young Canadian Matt Lapossie leads, but a whole host of well-known names, including Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Marc Goodwin and Mike "Timex" McDonald, are hot on his tail. Battle will commence shortly...

Bolliger Doubles Through Stelmak

Thomas Traboulsi raised to 11,500 from UTG, Dmitry Stelmak reraised all-in for around 80,000 next to him.

Mark Bolliger called all-in from the button, Traboulsi had a think but it let it go.

Stelmak: {A-Diamonds} {J-Clubs}
Bolliger: {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}

Board: {9-Hearts} {K-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {J-Clubs}

The Swiss player is up to 86,000 while Stelmak drops to about 38,000.

De Wolfe Wins 400k Flip

Tobias Renkemeier raised to 11,500 from late position before Roland de Wolfe pushed all-in from the button behind him for almost 200,000. Renkemeier thought for ages before making the call with {9-Clubs} {9-Hearts}, de Wolfe showed {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}.

The board ran out {8-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {A-Spades} {K-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} and as a result both players have about 400,000.

Woodward Proves a Dren on Ukella's Resources

Matt Woodward has enjoyed a full double up to over 400,000 after his {A-?} {5-?} turned a straight on the ten-high board and he got paid off by Dren Ukella and his pocket jacks.

For some reason it took the dealer a ridiculously long time to count the chips; when he at last finished, Ukella was not quite out, but he's suffered a very serious crippling and is down to just 40,000 or so.

Rasmussen Busto

Short-stacked Thayer Rasmussen got his last in with {A-?} {3-?}, but his end came when Roman Kadziela's {Q-?} {9-?} flopped a nine and Rasmussen failed to improve.

Isaia Runs Into Aces

Alessio Isaia has dropped a decent proportion of his stack after he ran {A-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} into Dren Ukella's {A-Diamonds} {A-Spades}. All the money went in preflop with Ukella dodging a few bullets on the river of the {10-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {K-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} board.
