We were about to mention as though Alex Wice was the only player who hadn't arrived at the tables yet, when the young Canadian dashed into the room and jumped into his seat next to Peter Eastgate. Tube troubles we're guessing.

Thomas Dolezal raised from the button, and in the big blind Nicolai Vivet pushed. Back to Dolezal, who spent a good few minutes tanking up, before making the call.

While Dolezal made a little fist pump and Vivet left the tournament area short of the money, another player accused Mr. Dolezal of slowrolling. In very broken English, a genuinely relieved Dolezal was trying to explain that owing to bad experience with bubbles and the like, he had been seriously considering folding.

Samanek Storms Into Second Place

Czech Josef Samanek has doubled through Rui Milhomens after they got into a raising war preflop to create a half-million chip pot. Samanek had Milhomens in bad shape with {A-Diamonds}

dominating {A-Clubs}

and after a board of {10-Clubs}

Samanek was up to 520,000 while Milhomens slips to about 220,000.

Maridu Doubles

The chances of Maridu Mayrinck's mother freerolling a trip to London to rail her daughter have just been upped -- Mayrinck managed to double up first hand with pocket eights versus pocket fives, and she's now up to 230,000.

Marty Smyth has doubled through Benny Spindler after he got it all-in preflop holding {A-Diamonds}

against the German's {A-Hearts}

, Smyth looked a little pained by the turn of the {8-Spades}

board as a possible split beckoned. But the river was the {6-Diamonds}

and Smyth is up to 360,000. Spindler down to about 110,000.

Suharto Doubles Through Fellows

Laughter from Table Suharto/Fellows -- loud and jovial from Darus Suharto, slightly more muted from Zac Fellows, alerted us to the fact that Suharto had doubled up, getting his chips in with {K-?}

against Fellows' {K-?}

, either before or on the flop.

Board: {5-?}

Fellows, crippled down to 20,000, was still laughing and taking it rather well, but we could tell he was crying inside.

Umberto Folds Tens to Stay Vital

[Removed:40] raised in mid position, only for Tamas Lendvai to reraise out of the big blind. Back to Vitagliano, who spent sme time thinking about it. He counted out a four-bet, but then went to fold. "I feel you win," he said -- but then checked his cards again and said, "No, I can't." He thought about it some more and then passed.

"NO!" cried Lendvai and turned over {A-Clubs}

, to much mirth around the table. Both players survive, while Vitagliano tells everyone who will listen, "I fold tens! I have tens! Really, I fold tens!"
