Day 2 Dawns

Good morning (or evening, as the case may be), and welcome back to the PokerStars.com EPT Prague. Day 2 is upon us, and we still have a room full of players trying to make their charge towards the money, and eventually, the final table.

More than 250 players have already fallen by the wayside, a number of them still loitering around to play the side events. But the big show is on the other side of the room where 328 players will be fighting for a top prize worth close to €700,000.

Play is set to kick off at high noon, just about 10 minutes from now. You could spend that time scouring the seating draw below. Or you could watch this ElkY video that is forthcoming. Either way, don't wander too far. We'll be back when the cards go a'flying.

Good With the Ladies

Christoph Erbler opened to 2,700 from mid position, and Konstantin Puchov put in the call from the button. In the big blind, Kim Torsvik stuck in a small three-bet to 7,000. That drew an all-in reraise from Erbler, and Puchov quickly folded. With a nod of the head, Torsvik called all in for 41,300.

Showdown
Erbler: {A-Clubs} {K-Hearts}
Torsvik: {Q-Spades} {Q-Clubs}

Off to the races. The board ran out clean for the at-risk Torsvik ({3-Hearts} {9-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {6-Clubs}), securing his double up and leaving Erbler with just a few thousand.

Slow Start As Day Twos Go

Not a great deal of crazy action yet, to be honest, with most people deep enough that they don't feel they have to get their stacks in ASAP.

There are some pretty interesting tables, though. Top of our Interesting Table Pops right now is the table featuring Marcel Luske, ElkY, Arnaud Mattern and big stack Luc Greenwood. We witnessed a preflop raise just now from Mattern, followed by a rather sour look as Greenwood called out of the small blind.

However, Greenwood checked the {4-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} flop, and then quickly folded to a 3,600 continuation bet from Mattern.

Addresch the Hand

Meanwhile, on another interesting table, Daniel Drescher and Tristan Clemencon had become involved on a {6-Hearts} {7-Spades} {Q-Spades} flop. Drescher checked and then called 3,200 from Clemencon, before they both checked the {10-Spades} turn. Drescher bet out 9,400 on the {6-Diamonds} river, and following a medium-length period of intense staring, Clemencon folded.

Margets Moves Up

Before the flop, Leo Margets and Arie Kliper tangled up in a raising war that left Kliper all in for just about 30,000. He tabled {Q-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}, and he was in bad shape against Margets and her {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts}.

The flop was good times as it came down {A-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {2-Clubs}. Margets nailed her top set, but the three clubs gave Kliper a flush draw to work with. The {5-Hearts} on the turn was an airball though, and the {Q-Spades} on the river was too little, too late. Margets tallies the knockout, moving her stack right up to 100,000.

Alexia Exits

Alexia Portal
Alexia Portal
Alexia Portal opened the pot on the button, and Tyler Bonkowski three-bet her from the small blind. She made the call, and they both watched a flop of {A-Spades} {J-Spades} {8-Clubs}. Bonkowski continued out with a bet of 6,500, drawing a raise to 19,500 from Portal. Bonkowski took that as his cue to move all in over the top, and Portal made the call to put herself at risk.

The news wasn't good for Ms. Portal. Bonkoswki tabled {J-Hearts} {J-Spades} for middle set, and she could only show {A-Clubs} {K-Hearts}, needing two running cards to stay alive. She would find no help on a blank turn and river though, and her day is done early.
