Langmann Climbing

Florian Langmann
Florian Langmann
A small raise came in from early position for a total of 475. Florian Langmann made the call from middle position and the big blind came along to a flop as well.

The first three community cards were the {9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and action checked around to Langmann. He fired 875 and the big blind called. The original preflop raiser folded.

The turn brought the {3-Diamonds} and the big blind checked. Langmann barreled again, this time for 3,000. His opponent called.

The river completed the board with the {Q-Spades} and the big blind checked once more. Langmann didn't slow down and fired 10,575. His opponent made the call and Langmann revealed the {5-Spades}{5-Hearts} for a set of fives. His opponent mucked and Langmann scooped the pot.

Langmann wasn't done there, as he opened the next pot with a raise and found two callers. The flop came down {A-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Langmann fired a continuation bet of 1,200 after one player checked to him. The third player in the hand behind Langmann called and the other player folded.

The turn and river both went check, check after the {10-Clubs} and {2-Spades} fell in order. Langmann tabled the {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for pair of sevens and his opponent mucked his hand.

With these two pots, Langmann has boosted his stack to 51,000 chips.

Blom in the House

Viktor Blom has made a late entrance, and in typical Blom fashion, he's already down to 16,000. Mr. Blom, who appears to have had trouble buttoning his shirt evenly this morning, is suspected by many people to be the live incarnation of Isildur1.

Blom raised to 600 from early position. The button called, and the big blind came along as well. All three checked the {J-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {7-Clubs} flop. The turn brought the {2-Clubs}, and the big blind and Blom checked again. The button bet 1,600. After the big blind folded, Blom made the call. The river was the {2-Hearts}, and Blom declined to bet at it. His opponent bet 3,500, and unusually, rather than trying to steal the pot with some Isildur-esqe ninja move, Blom simply surrendered the pot.

Brown Going Down

Who said that?
Who said that?
Chad Brown had good start to the day, but now he's back down below his starting stack.

We caught up with him on the {10-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} flop, which the gentleman in the big blind checked. Brown in the hijack bet 700 and the player to his left in the cutoff called, but Mr. Big Blind now chose to check-raise to 2,700. Brown called, the cutoff folded, and they went heads up to the turn.

The turn was the {6-Spades} and Mr. Big Blind now bet out 5,600. Brown sat very still for some moments before calling. When the {7-Clubs} river came down, Mr. Big Blind bet out a hefty 10,000. Brown sat very still and stared at the board again - but this time he folded, and is down to 28,500.

Eames Earns One

John Eames raised from the hijack, and the cutoff reraised to 1525. Not deterred, Eames popped it up to 4,025, and his opponent opted to call. The flop fell {9-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {2-Spades}, and Eames fired 5,000. The cutoff tanked for a minute before giving up his hand. Eames is up to 36,000.

Luske Tightens Up

By the time we arrived tableside, the board read {Q-Spades} {2-Spades} {2-Hearts} {6-Clubs}. The young player in the under-the-gun position was betting out, and Marcel Luske swiftly made the call.

They saw a {J-Spades} river and Mr. Under The Gun paused. Eventually he asked the dealer to spread the pot. He paused again. Then, looking really very nervous, he bet out 4,650.

The action moved back to Luske who spent some time looking very confused before folding. Mr. Under The Gun showed him a {6-?}.

Clock Called on Jelassi

We stumbled upon Ramzi Jelassi's table and saw a board of {J-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-Clubs} and about 10,000 chips in the middle. Jelassi was in the tank and faced with a bet of 8,000 from his opponent. After a few minutes went by, someone at the table called the clock on Jelassi and the tournament staff came over.

"You have one minute to act on your hand, sir," said the tournament director.

"I can't figure it out, can you help me?" responded Jelassi before sitting in the tank for a little while longer. Before the clock completely ran out, Jelassi mucked his hand and dropped back to 44,000 chips.

The Time Is Now

Judging from his earlier short stack status and his current invisibility in the tournament area, we reckon it is safe to declare Mike "Timex" McDonald busted. Sorry, Timex fans.

BREAKING NEWS

We now understand that Timex got his last 4,500 or so in with pocket eights but got looked up by Fatima Moreira de Melo holding {A-?} {K-?}. Ace on the river.

Litho No Rock

With around 4,500 in the pot by the river of the {A-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {8-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {A-Diamonds} board, Kristijonas Andrulis bet out 2,100. His opponent in the cutoff paused to think about it and then very suddenly decided he was going to call and tossed in the requisite chips - and then promptly mucked when Andrulis turned over {A-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}.

The popular Lithuanian FullFlush-a-like is up to 49,000.
