One for Jens

Jens Kyllönen and an opponent were involved in a hand when we walked up to the table. There was over 10,000 in the pot and the board read {4-Spades}{j-Spades}{9-Hearts}.

Kyllönen made a bet of 4,800 and was called by his opponent.

The turn brought the {6-Spades} and that's when Kyllönen stacked his chips into one column and pushed them over the line, moving all-in.

His opponent took some time to think about the bet, which was just over 21,000, before folding.

Channing Finally Gets One

With the board reading {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{7-Spades}{8-Diamonds}, Neil Channing said to his oppoent, "Maybe I can win just one from you."

Channing's opponent in the big blind checked. Channing made a bet of 3,300. His opponent made the call and the river brought the {4-Hearts}.

Again, it was checked to Channing. This time he threw out 5,000. His opponent thought for a moment before making the call. Channing flipped over {6-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and said, "I have a seven."

His opponent took one last look at his cards before mucking.

"I finally won one from you," said Channing.

Don't Mess With Dennis

With the board reading {q-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, Dennis Phillips made a bet of 5,100. His opponent raised it up to 9,000.

Phillips looked down at his stack, grabbed some chips and tossed them in, reraising to 46,000.

His opponent took a moment before folding and Phillips took the pot.

Cowboys Survive Shootout

Andri Koen is plummeting to new depths of poker misery after the old {A-?} {A-?} lost out to Mikhail Shalamov's {K-?} {K-?} on a {9-Spades} {5-Spades} {5-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {K-Spades} board. The Dutchman even let out a yelp as the river came down, he's been crippled as a result.

Haralabos Voulgaris Knocks One Out

An unknown opponent made it 1,100 to go preflop and was called by one other player before Haralabos Voulgaris made it 3,200 to go. The original raiser made the call and the other player got out of the way.

The flop came down {5-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{2-Spades}. Voulgaris' opponent made a bet of 5,000 before Voulgaris moved all in. His opponent struggled with the decision for a moment before making the call, flipping over king-queen, only to find out it was no good against the {a-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} of Voulgaris.

The turn brought the {2-Hearts} and the river the {7-Spades} and Voulgaris got the chips and his opponent hit the rail.

Roy Is Comeback

Alain Roy
Alain Roy
Oh dear. We arrived just in time to see Alain Roy doubling up to...

...1,800. That must have been a big hand he lost earlier. Nevertheless, Russell Carson raised to 750 on the button and Roy shoved in the small blind; big blind "Miami" John Cernuto reraised, Carson folded instantly, and they were on their backs.

Cernuto: {K-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts}
Roy: {A-Diamonds} {4-Hearts}

Board: {9-Clubs} {5-Spades} {3-Clubs} {8-Spades} {9-Diamonds}

"I am comeback! Attention!" said Roy, then, "Oh la la la la la."

Roy stays in the game on a still rather precarious 5,000 or so.

Like Father, Like Son

Ben Roberts, whose list of tournament cashes over the years is as long as Ben Kang's arm, has been moved to the most hilarious table he could possibly find himself at - his son Jamie Roberts, who is fast catching up to his dad in terms of results, is seated just opposite him.

We doubt there's any chance of these two soft-playing each other though. We will be watching them with considerable interest...
