Day 2, We Love You

Ah, blessed sunshine.
Ah, blessed sunshine.
Good morning and welcome back to Le Sporting Club, where 413 players will shortly be merging from our two Day Ones and will be getting down to the serious business of trying to win it.

Chip leader at the moment is Thiago Nishijima, who on 264,200 is way out in front of his nearest rival, EPT San Remo go-deeper Paul Berende on 195,500. Also still in the running are various gems of poker talent, including Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Joe Cada, Neil Channing, Mats Sundin, Humberto Brenes and Marcel Luske.

128 places pay out, and although we're probably not going to get that far today, we won't be that far off - we'll be playing seven 75-minute levels, interrupted only by a dinner break. Play is due to resume at noon, and bags of chips are being distributed around the room now. Until then, please enjoy the Monte Carlo sunshine.
