Yannick Autuaa Here

Level 7 : 300/600, 50 ante

Pedro Mendes Muller and Yannick Autuaa got into a raising war blind or blind resulting in a preflop all-in, with Autuaa holding a decisive advantage with his {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs} ahead of Muller's {A-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}.

The board brought something for bother coming {Q-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {Q-Spades} but the {6-Spades} turn and {7-Spades} river helped neither and Yannick had been 3-Autuaa-ed. (sorry)

Pedro Mendes Muller is up to about 150,000.

Champion Toppled

Level 7 : 300/600, 50 ante
Jake Cody
Jake Cody

We will be crowning a brand new champion in Deauville this week, as reigning champ Jake Cody has been eliminated in a four-way preflop all-in showdown. Yup, that's right - four-way.

Manuel Bevand: {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}
Jake Cody: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Joseph Stykemain: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Angelo Magro: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Board: {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{7-Clubs}

Cody hit the rail with a shrug, as did Bevand. Stykemain picked up the side pot and finished the hand on around 50,000; Magro kissed his cowboys before tossing them back to the dealer, and took the 55,000 main pot.

End of Day 1a

Level 7 : 300/600, 50 ante
Guillaume de la Gorce
Guillaume de la Gorce

The first day of EPT Deauville 2011 is officially done and dusted. 419 players took part today hoping that they would still be around in a week's time to contest the final table.

It was not a great day for the British players as PokerStars Team Pros Vicky Coren and John Duthie both made early exits, the former running the nut flush into a straight flush. We will also be crowning a new champion as Jake Cody was eliminated towards the end of the day in a massive four-way pot.

Indeed, it was to be the home nation that had all the fun today as Nicolas Babel, Bruno Launais, Julien Muel and former WSOP Main Event finalist Antoine Saout all had good days finishing well over the 100,000 mark. But the chip leader overall was Guillaume de la Gorce, the Frenchman finishing with 196,800 at the very top of the pile.

Tomorrow will see a whole host of new players including Team PokerStars Pros Liv Boeree, Arnaud Mattern and ElkY. Also, making his European debut under his real name will be Viktor "Isildur1" Blom while Daniel Negreanu has also shown up to hopefully repeat his good performance in Vienna.

We'll be back tomorrow at midday once more with all the action from Day 1b, see you then!
