Day 2 Dawns, Dryly
Good morning and welcome back to the spacious annex of the Casino Barriere where 501 happy survivors are not affected by the fact that it's finally stopped raining outside, as they are instead preparing to get down to the serious business of Day 2.
Chip leader as we head into the day is Guillaume de la Gorce. Fresh off a fifth place finish at WPT Marrakech at the end of last year, France's finest finished top of the Day 1a pops on 196,800 and is the man to beat as we start off on the long road to the money.
Not far behind him are fellow Frenchmen Bruno Launais (already a veteran of two EPT final tables), singing legend Patrick Bruel and Team PokerStars Pro Viktor "Isildur1" Blom. Still, we have to lose almost 400 players before anyone gets paid, and it remains anyone's game. Also still in the running are Bruno Fitoussi, Antoine Saout, Praz Bansi, Nacho Barbero and pokernews.nl blogger Frank Op de Woerd.
Play is scheduled to resume at noon local time, so don't go anywhere.
