Sigurd Eskeland opened the pot with a raise to 53,000, and it would turn out to be a fateful move. Saar Wilf put in the call from the next seat over, and the two men went heads-up to the flop.
It came , and Eskeland continued out with another 72,000. Wilf put 135,000 into the pot, an under-raise. He was required to make it 144,000 for a legal raise, and Eskeland responded with an all-in reraise for about 500,000 total. Snap-call! Cards on their backs, gents.
Showdown
Eskeland:
Wilf:
Wilf's sneaky aces had him a near-lock for the knockout, and the turn made that a certainty. The river was unimportant, and Eskeland has been sent on his way by the chip leader. For the 2010 bracelet winner, it's a small cash of €20,000. For the chip leader, it's another boost to his already towering stack. We count him around 4.9 million now, but we'll try to get a better count during the upcoming break.
Raul Mestre was the first to open the pot with a raise, and Tome Moreira three-bet shoved his short stack into the pot. In the big blind, Dragan Kostic started a soak in the think tank, and Mestre ended up folding out of turn with action pending. Kostic then decided to make the call with his pocket jacks, and Moreira and his were in bad shape.
The board ran out nine-high, coming , and Moreira could not catch up. He's out in 16th place, and we're going to go ahead and take our break right now while we combine down to two tables.
Massimilano Martinez raised from the button to 50,000 and Jose Miguel Esteban reraised from the small blind to 130,000. When play got back to Martinez, he folded and Esteban won the pot.
Massimilano Martinez continued to stay active after raising on the last hand and folding to a three-bet. This time, action folded to him in the cutoff sea and he raised to 50,000. Everyone folded and he won the pot.
Dragan Kostic just did a big reraise all-in on Tomeu Gomila and it worked to help him add 350,000 to his stack.
He raised preflop and called when Gomila three-bet. The flop came down and Gomila led for 200,000 only to face a snap shove from Kostic for about a million chips.
Gomila showed and folded. Gomila showed him the and raked in the pot.
From early position, Saar Wilf raised to 60,000. Play folded to Massimilano Martinez in the hijack seat and he kept himself involved with a three-bet shove to about 775,000. The shove earned a fold from everyone and Martinez scooped the pot.
From middle position, Massimilano Martinez raised to 50,000 before play folded to Isabel Clemente on the button. She reraised after tanking for a bit and made it 150,000 to go. In the small blind, Miikka Anttonen thought about he decision for about 30 seconds and then slid all of his chips into the middle for an all-in bet of 714,000. Play folded all the way back to Clemente and she made the call with a little over 700,000 behind herself.
When she called, Anttonen tabled the and Clemente had disgust written all over her face. She then tabled the .
The flop came down and you didn't even need to see it to understand what had happened as Anttonen let out a big roar of disbelief. The turn then brought the and the river completed the board with the . Clemente was able to come from behind and win the hand to send Anttonen out the door in 16th place.
Jose Miguel Esteban raised to 65,000 to open the pot from early position, and Massimilano Martinez defended his big blind to see a flop.
It came out , and Martinez checked to the raiser. Esteban continued out with another 110,000, and Martinez called to bring them to the turn. He checked a second time, and Esteban's second bullet finally made him a believer. The 230,000 was too much to call, and Martinez mucks to leave himself with about 600,000 chips.
