Jacobsen Takes On Vamplew

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

The action folded to David Vamplew in middle position and he bets 500. It seems like he is going to be picking up the blinds and antes but at the last moment Kasper Jacobsen called in the big blind's seat.

Flop: {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} - Jacobson checked to Vamplew and the Scotsman checked behind.

Turn: {3-Spades} - Jacobson checked for a second time when the turn was dealt and then called as Vamplew bet 725.

River: {A-Hearts} - For the third consecutive street Jacobson checked and Vamplew gave up and checked behind.

Jacobson turned over {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and Vamplew mucked.

Iversen CAN Beat Kruse

Albert Iversen must've had a hard time playing Achim Wolfgang Kruse today as when he forced a fold from the German in a hand he said, "So I can beat you!"

The hand started with a Kruse raised from under the gun which was called in two spots before Iversen three-bet to 3,000 from the small blind. Kruse put in a four-bet to 5,550 and Iversen was the only caller to the {8-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop.

Both players checked to the {2-Spades} turn where Iversen led for 4,500. His German opponent took his time before making the call. The river came {2-Diamonds} and Iversen made it 6,625 to play. Kruse took his time again but this time he found a fold.

Squeezy Does It For Baekke?

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Philip Jacobsen opened to 575 from under the gun, one player folded and Attal Vincent flat-called. Rupert Elder decided to sit this one out but Allan Bakke, who said he had kings every time he had the button, squeezed to 1,750. Steve O'Dwyer quickly folded his small blind but Patrik Renkers looked like he was pondering a call in the big blind but that is all he did, ponder, before flicking his cards back to the dealer.

Jacobsen asked to see Baekke's stack and he obliged by moving his hands out of the way and telling Jacobsen "around 24,000." Jacobsen knodded then shortly afterwards folded. Vincent followed suit and Baekke scooped the pot.

Elder Joins Romanello

Romanello and his new set of cans.
Romanello and his new set of cans.

The table that used to house former European Poker Tour champion, Rupert Elder, has been vaporised and Elder has found himself seated to the direct right of another former EPT champion, Roberto Romanello. Here is the Welshman in action in a hand against Samuli Spiila.

Romanello raised to 500 in early position and Spiila made the cold call from the button. The flop was {K-Hearts} {K-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} and Romanello made a 600 c-bet. Action onto Spiila and he raised to 1,400. Romanello wasn't going to be shifted off the pot that easily and he made the call. On the turn we saw the {6-Spades} and Spiila finally shook Romanello off with a 3,600 bet.

Nitsche Nicks One

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Helge Stjernevang got the betting underway with a raise to 550 from late position. Dominik Nitsche peeled back his cards, placed them back face down and made the call. Thomas Blomberg made the call in the big blind and it was three-handed to the {7-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop.

Blomberg lead out into his opponents with a bet of 1,500, which was enough to force a fold from Stjernevang but Nitsche came along for the ride. The turn brought the {J-Spades} into play and Blomberg checked its arrival. Nitsche puts a bright blue 5,000 chip forward and verbally announces "3,200" and Blomberg quickly folds.

Romanello Loses Out To Vidrobrigsvor Again

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Dag Vidorbrigsvor checked to Roberto Romanello on a flop reading {4-Spades}{A-Hearts}{J-Clubs} and the Welsman tested the waters with a bet of 1,175. Vidrobrigsvor then sprung into life and check-raised to 3,300 and Romanello called.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and Vidorbrigsvor asked "how much you have left," and Romanello moved his hands to allow his opponent to see his stack, which contains 11,200 by the way, and when he had counted the Welshman's stack he moved all. Romanello shook his head before letting his hand go. He then rocked back on his chair and put his new blue Dr Dre headphones back on. Hopefully they'll being him some better luck and soon.

Iversen on a Tear

The second session of poker is going a lot better than the first for Albert Iversen. He just found aces and won the pot to help his stack rise to 42,000.

The action was four-way to {9-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop and Iversen's 2,500 bet was only check-called by Joni Jouhkimainen. They were the last chips to enter the pot as both players checked through the {4-Clubs}{8-Hearts} turn and river.

When Iversen checked behind on the river he said, "So weak" and opened {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}. Jouhkimainen mucked.

Whilst this hand was unfolding one of the floor men handed me Frank Wesemann's ID. That means he's out.

Dominik Nitsche Flops a Set and Leaves The Competition

Nitsche Gets Ready For a Visit to Noma
Nitsche Gets Ready For a Visit to Noma

We just saw Dominik Nitsche talking to Melanie Weisner in classic bad beat pose. We wandered over, and as usual, Nitsche was more than happy to tell us his story, so here it is from the boy himself.

There was a raise, before Nitsche flats with {2-} {2-} in position. The player on the button calls as does the player in the small blind. The host of players all see a flop containing more diamonds on it that the crotchless underpants Nitsche was wearing under his trendy skinny jeans - {8-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds}. The action checks to Nitsche, but before he can bet, the player on the button pots it out of turn. Nitsche checks, the bet stands, the small blind folds, the original raiser checks and Nitsche bets 7,000 (leaving himself 10,000 behind). The player on the button folds, the original raiser moves all-in and Nitsche calls. Nitsche turns over his bottom set and the original raiser shows {A-Diamonds} {Q-}. Nitsche then informs us that the board ran out runner-runner straight for his opponent who sighed in disgust because he didn't even know he had won until Nitsche told him.
