Fabrice Soulier Eliminated in 3rd Place (€240,000)

Fabrice Soulier
Fabrice Soulier

Fabrice Soulier moved all in preflop, Olivier Busquet folded in the small blind but Jannick Wrang did not muck instantly. The Dane began to debate and it looked like it was an extremely close decision for him, but finally he made the call and it was pretty close to a coinflip.

Wrang: {A-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Soulier: {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}

The flop came down {K-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and both players flopped pairs but Soulier took the chip lead but then the {A-Spades} came on the turn. Wrang made aces up and the Frenchman needed one of two remaining kings in the deck but the river was the {7-Diamonds}.

Wrang is now heads up with the chip lead against Busquet. It's the $25/$50 PLO expert against the man with the reputation of being one of the best heads-up sit'n'go players in the world. This should be a cracker!

Break

Level 31 : 60,000/120,000, 10,000 ante

The players are on a 15 minute break before the heads up match begins.

Busquet Starts To Close The Gap

Level 31 : 60,000/120,000, 10,000 ante

Jannick Wrang opened to a slightly larger amount than in previous hands by making it 265,000 to play and Olivier Busquet peeled and the duo share a flop reading {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs}. Busquet checked then called when Wrang continued to 285,000.

The {7-Spades} turn failed to ignite much interest in either player because when Busquet checked Wrang checked behind and that was all the information Busquet needed because when the {10-Diamonds} landed on the turn he bet 600,000 and Wrang's cards headed towards the muck.

Wrang Pegs Busquet Back

Jannick Wrang
Jannick Wrang

Olivier Busquet raised to 250,000 and Jannick Wrang made the call to see a {8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} board. Busquet continued with a 250,000 bet after Wrang checked but the Dane made the call and then board players checked the {5-Spades} on the turn.

Wrang led out for 560,000 on the {10-Hearts} river and Busquet quickly called but Wrang's {10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flush draw had backdoored into two pair for the pot.

Busquet Wins Three-Bet Pot

Jannick Wrang raised to 240,000 preflop and Olivier Busquet made it 600,000 in the big blind. Wrang thought for a minute and made the call to see a {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop.

Busquet continued with the same size bet - 600,000 and Wrang folded after about 30 seconds.

Back to Wrang

Jannick Wrang has developed a strategy of just limping in preflop and did so again to see a {K-Spades}{7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop. Olivier Busquet led out for 125,000 and Wrang made the call to see a {5-Diamonds} on the turn. Busquet bet 250,000 and again Wrang made the call.

The {J-Diamonds} came on the river and Busquet checked, giving up when Wrang bet 200,000.

Back and Forth...

Level 31 : 60,000/120,000, 10,000 ante

As the commentary team have stated, the chips have swung forward and backwards but the stacks at the same relative level as when they began.

One problem is that the casino has to close by 5am (it's 3.15am at the moment) so we could be back tomorrow at this rate...

Wrang Racks 'Em Up

Level 31 : 60,000/120,000, 10,000 ante

Jannick Wrang opened to 290,000 from the button and Olivier Busquet decided to just call. The flop came down {9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Busquet lead into Wrang with a bet of 300,000 and Wrang called.

The turn was the {4-Diamonds} and Busquet lead again, making it 600,000 to play and Wrang called. The fifth and final community card was the {J-Spades} and now Busquet checked, then folded as Wrang bet 1,100,000 into the 2,400,000 pot.

Wrang Increases Lead

Olivier Busquet raised to 250,000 and Jannick Wrang called to see a {K-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop. Wrang check-called another 250,000 on the flop before the {Q-Clubs} turn went check/check. The river was the {8-Spades} and Wrang led out for 265,000, Busquet quickly called but mucked when the Dane showed {K-Spades}{3-Clubs}.
