"That Raise Saved You"

With 2,800 in the pot and a board reading {A-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, Malte Monning checked from the small blind and allowed Antonio Guerrero to bet 1,000 from the big. Pim de Goede then came in with a raise to 3,000 from the cutoff, Nachman Berlin called from the button, Monning folded, and Guerrero called the additional 2,000.

All three players then checked the {7-Clubs} river and the cards were tabled. Guerrero showed {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, which beat Goede's {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}, but it wasn't good enough to overcome Berlin's {9-Spades}{5-Spades}.

"That raise saved you," Berlin told Guerrero of Goede's raise on the turn.

Liviu Takes Down Five-Way Pot

It all started when Ari Engel opened to 275 from under the gun. Vytautas Semaska called in middle position, Petr Jelinek called on his direct left, Ignat Liviu called in the cutoff, and Sean Jazayeri defended his big blind.

The flop fell {j-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, and the action checked to Semaska, who tossed out 850. Jelinek folded, Liviu raised to 2,100, and the action folded back to Semaska, who called.

The turn was the {k-Spades}, both players rapped the table, and the river was a second five - the {5-Hearts}. Semaska checked again, and Liviu fired 3,500. Semaska tanked for the better part of two minutes, then committed enough chips to make the call.

Liviu tabled {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for two pair, and Semaska mucked.

The Plan

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Today's plan is to play eight 75-minute levels, with a dinner break after Level 6 (approximately 20:00 CEST). We will follow the same schedule on Day 1b, and then the tournament staff will decide how many levels will be played on subsequent days.

Lowly Fours Good For Jazayeri

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Sean Jazayeri has a World Poker Tour title to his name and is now attempting to add a European Poker Tour win to his resume here in Prague.

Joining the action on a {3-Spades}{2-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} board, Vytautas Semaska tested the waters with bet of 2,900 from the big blind and Jazayeri pondered all of his options before making the call.

The river was the {5-Diamonds} and Semaska gave up and checked. Jazayeri instantly checked behind from the button and showed {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} after his opponent revealed {A-Clubs}{k-Hearts}.

Bansi Goes for the Thin Value

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Praz Bansi found value in a three-way hand where many other players would've checked behind.

He squeezed an initial raise and call whilst sat on the button but failed to dislodge either player. They both called before all three checked a {4-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} flop.

The turn brought a {7-Hearts} and a player in the cut-off bet 1,000. Both players called to the {5-Hearts} river and the action was checked to Bansi who bet 2,200. He was only called by a player in mid position and opened {a-Spades}{6-Hearts}. His opponent mucked and Bansi scooped.

Liviu Turns the Screws on Hulme

Ignat Liviu, better known as online high-stakes legend "0Human0", opened for 350 under the gun only to have the UK's Andrew Hulme three-bet to 900. The rest of the field got out of the way, Liviu called, and the flop came down {8-Spades}{4-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}. Liviu wasted little time in checking, and Hulme continued with a bet of 700. Liviu then sprung to life with a check-raise to 2,500, Hulme called, and the {J-Hearts} peeled off on the turn.

"Twenty-five," Liviu said while tossing out a blue T5,000 ship for a bet of 2,500. Hulme mulled his options before making the call, which brought about the {7-Hearts} river. Liviu took a long time before betting 16,000, and the pressure was on Hulme. A solid two minutes passed as Hulme considered what to do, but he ultimately came to the decision to lay down his hand. With that, Liviu chipped up to 40,000.

Meanwhile, last year's sixth-place finisher, Ari Engel, is also up to 40,000.
