Vanessa Rousso

The board read {K-Spades}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts} when Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Rousso faced a big decision. Rousso's opponent had put out a bet worth 11,200 and the first level of the day that can be considered a huge bet.

"Sixes full?" Rousso said as she was clearly unhappy about having to play such a big pot at the start of the day.

Eventually Rousso folded {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} face up in an outcry for her opponent to show his cards. Rousso's opponent did not show and the Team PokerStars Pro was left wondering what could've been.

"Please, just give me some sort of info or even just a riddle?" Rousso continued as her opponent remained silent throughout this process.

Veldhuis Off to a Rough Start

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Action folded to Team PokerStars Pro Lex Veldhuis in the hijack and he opened for 300. The small blind called, the big folded, and it was heads-up action to the {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop. The small blind checked and then quickly folded when Veldhuis bet 500. Veldhuis then flashed the {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a flush and straight draw.

Despite winning that small pot, it's been a rough level of Veldhuis, who has lost about a third of his starting stack.

Not Cohen's Day

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Sam Cohen had a very short day today as she's already been knocked out. At the beginning of this year Cohen finished eight in the Aussie Millions Main Event for A$120,000 but here in London she will not have a chance to top that result.

On her way out Cohen mentioned that she had her flush beat by another player's bigger flush and with that her EPT London main event ended.

Senft Cracks Aces to Double Through Dion

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Just before the level went up, we saw a huge pot take place at Table 6 that got Maximilian Senft off to a dream start.

It began when Senft opened for 300 from the hijack and the player in the cutoff three-bet to 700. Yann Dion proceeded to four-bet to 1,800 from the button, the blinds folded, and Senft pushed back with a five-bet to 4,400. The cutoff got out of the way and Dion opted for a six-bet to 7,100.

Senft thought for well over two minutes before making the call, and the two saw a flop of {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}{8-Spades}. After two checks, the {Q-Spades} turned and Senft seized the initiative by leading out for 4,000. Dion made the call, the {8-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, and Senft took his time before whispering, "All in."

Dion hit the tank and stared down his Austrian opponent, who was donning sunglasses and a scarf. After 90 seconds or so of contemplation, Dion made the call and Senft proudly turned over the {a-Spades}{k-Hearts} for a full house. Dion shook his head as if to say, "It figures," and then flashed the {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} before sending them to the muck.
