Welcome back to The Vic for Day 4

Chris Moorman - another big talent in the field

The remaining 32 players return today with the aim of being in the top 50% by the day's end. Four tables have to look like two tables of eight and then play will end for the day.

Uber-aggressive Finn, Pasi Sormunen leads the way with nearly 1.6 million chips but he has a ton of talent chasing him today. Included in that are three former EPT champions in Jason Mercier, Mike McDonald and Nicolas Chouity; all will want to make history and become the first double champion this week.

As well as Mercier, Team PokerStars Pro will also be represented by Theo Jorgensen who has made a welcome, and successful, return to the live arena this festival.

Cards will be in the air at 12:00 PM GMT.

Steady as She Goes

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

The players returned today very (60 bb average) so it comes as no surprise that play has gotten off to a slow start. There have been a couple of shoves by no callers as yet.

Overnight chip leader, Pasi Sormunen, has dropped back a big after getting overly aggressive.

He opened to 22,000 from under the gun and Russell Carson defended his big blind to see a {k-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop appear.

Sormunen continued for 28,000 and was check-raised up to 83,000 by Carson. His answer was to three-bet to 168,000 but he had to admit defeat when the Canadian shoved for 200,000 chips more.

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

A huge pot just went down on the feature table that saw Nicolas Chouity take out two players en route to taking over the chip lead.

All the chips between Chouity, Fredrik Andersson (155k) and Rumen Nanev (545k) went in pre flop in a pot worth more than 700,000 chips to the man from Lebanon.

Nanev: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Andersson: {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Chouity: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

The board ran {3-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{4-Clubs} and the jacks held up.

Tikerpe Eliminated By Erlandsson

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Matthias Tikerpe started Day 2 second in chips and he has just been knocked out. The action started when Daniel Erlandsson raised to 20,000 under the gun and Ruben Visser three-bet to 48,000. Matthias Tikerpe was seated on the button and he made it 103,000.

After both blinds folded the action was back on Erlandsson who tanked for a bit before five-betting to 195,000. Visser tanked for quite some time but eventually folded after which Tikerpe shoved for about 500,000 chips. Erlandsson snap-called.

Daniel Erlandsson: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}
Matthias Tikerpe: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

The board ran out {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{J-Spades} and Tikerpe was knocked out. Erlandsson is now one of the chip leaders with right around 1.3 million.

Greenwood Puts it on The Line

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Niall Farrell raised to 22,000 under the gun and Max Greenwood decided to make the call to his direct left. Olof Haglund was sitting on the button and three-bet to 62,000 and Farrell made the call.

There were quite some chips already in the pot and Greenwood moved all in for right around 610,000 chips. Haglund gave it some thought but eventually folded and Haglund quickly let go of his hand as well.
