The Vienna Champion Stays Alive

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Kajetan Masiewicz opened the action from early position with a raise to 1,200 and Vienna winner Oleksii Khoroshenin three-bet out of the small blind to 3,200. The initial raiser called to see the {6-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop, Khoroshenin bet 3,200 and then moved all in when the {2-Spades} turn appeared. Masiewicz pondered about the decision for about 2 minutes but ultimately ~ 8,000 was too much and he folded.

Fellow Vienna finalist Rumen Nanev from Bulgaria was less fortunate and has hit the rail.

Srinisavan Takes On Metalidi

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Artem Metalidi was the initial raiser with 1,000 from early position and Marcin Wydrowski then three-bet to 2,275 from the button. Shyam Srinivasan cold called from the big blind and Metalidi did so as well to see the {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop. All three players checked and the {2-Clubs} turn fell.

Srinivasan check-raised to 13,300 and Metalidi called after putting in 5,300 himself. Wydrowski got out of the way. Srinivasan quickly checked again on the {3-Hearts} river and Metalidi ultimately checked behind.

"Just a set," announced the Canadian and showed {2-Hearts}{2-Spades} to which he received an "oh that's good" from his opponent. "I was hoping you'd bet. Hoping that you'd go all-in. Did you have a flush draw?"

Srinivasan only received a smile in return.

Five-Bet All In, No Call

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Ronan Monfort opened to 1,000 under the gun plus one. Darie Vlad made it 2,500 two positions down, but that was far from the end of it. Bulgarian player Ivan Neytchev cold four-bet to 6,500 from the button and after both blinds folded, action was back on Monfort.

The French PokerStars Team Online player thought for a little bit, before announcing all in. The dealer coutned it as 23,100 and the decision was with Vlad. He thought about it for a bit, he had about as much to start the hand as Monfort did.

Vlad eventually folded, and Neytchev quickly did the same thing.

No showdown for Monfort who now is up to 33,250.

No Show for Panka

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Dominik Panka had three-bet Maurizio Saieva but now faced a four-bet from the same player to 11,500. Panka thought about it for nearly two minutes before exhaling and folding, asking Saieva, “Show? I had a good hand.”

There has been an extraordinary amount of hand showing today but Saieva was in no mood to join in the frivolity, leaving the Polish PokerStars player guessing.

Vanessa Selbst Is Up-Set

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
Vanessa Selbst
Vanessa Selbst

From under the gun, Vanessa Selbst raised to 1,200 and saw a three-bet by Carlo Savinelli to 2,700. Selbst four-bet to 4,800 and the Italian called to see the {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop. She took her time before making the continuation bet worth 5,300 and Savinelli called to see the {K-Spades} turn.

Again it was Selbst with the bet of 7,200 and now Savinelli moved all-in for 24,125. Call by Selbst with the {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} but it was no good against the {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} of the Italian. The {8-Clubs} river was a brick and Selbst was not quite happy with her play.
