Tureniec Doubles

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

We've clearly missed something befire, or right after the break, as Michael Tureniec was way shorter than last time we checked. Anyhow, things are looking better again for the former EPT champ as he just doubled through Federico Petruzzelli.

Petruzzelli on the button and Tureniec in the small blind got all of their chips in before the flop. Tureniec's tournament life was at risk, he had his last 130,000 chips in the middle with {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}. It was by far the best hand as his Italian opponent tabled a mere {K-}{4-}.

The flop gave something to both, but left Petruzzelli almost drawing dead: {2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. The {9-Clubs} made it official, the {J-Spades} on the river was there just for good measures. Tureniec doubles.

Pariset Doubles Through Marrocolli

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Zachary Korik opened from early position with a min raise to 12,000. Filippo Marrocolli three bet to 29,000 from the cutoff, but that wasn't the end of it. Emmanuel Pariset from France cold four-bet allin for a little more and Korik quickly folded. Marrocolli made the call.

Marrocolli needed some help with his {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} as his neighbor had {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}. The {J-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{10-Hearts} improved neither and Pariset doubled up.

Coren at Risk

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Vicky Coren opened from under the gun for 13,000 and a smile played across her lips as it folded round the table to Dan Murariu in the small blind. He raised to 28,000 and when big blind Telker folded Coren made the call.

The dealer put out a {2-Spades}{q-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop.Coren doubled checked her cards and Murariu bet 31,000. Coren slid out a stack of blue T5000 chips for a 100,000 raise and when Murariu moved all in she called.

Murariu showed {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and Coren gave a small groan when she saw his cards, flipping her {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} in the air and onto the felt. She would have to hit to stay in the tournament.

The turn card was the {a-Hearts} and the river was the {10-Clubs} giving Coren the best two pair and another life in the main event.

Michael Telker
Michael Telker

Ariel Celestino opened for 12,000 and Piotr Shautsou three-bet to 28,000. Michael Telker was on the button and thought long and hard about what to do. His final decision was to move all in.

Celestino folded and when Shautsou got a count of 147,000 he made the call with his {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. Telker turned over {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}.

The final board ran out {q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{10-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Telker dodged the over cards to double up.

“Thank you. I’m such a nit I wanted to fold.” Telker said.

Sardone And Petruzzelli On The Rail

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Our Italian colleagues told us about the eliminations of Alessio Sardone and Federico Petruzzelli. Petruzzelli had pocket kings and Andrija Martic flopped two pair with {10-}{9-} in a three way pot. On the {Q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{10-Clubs} turn the money went in with the Italian holding pocket kings and Andrija doubled up after a blank river. The remaining stack was gone shortly after in a battle of the blinds.

Sardone ran with the {10-Spades}{9-Spades} into the {K-Spades}{5-Spades} of an opponent on the {3-Hearts}{6-Spades}{7-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Spades} board. He called the all in bet on the river with less chips to discover the bad news.

Savov Jams Into Westmorland

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Jordan Westmorland min-raised to 12,000 from under the gun and Valeri Savov moved all in for 160,000. It was no snap call from Westmorland but he did put the chips in and turned over the{A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. Savov was flipping with the {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs} but the {10-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} flop was devastating to say the least. No miracle happened on the {3-Diamonds} turn and {7-Clubs} river, Savov headed to the payout desk.
