Dario Sammartino

In a battle of the blinds, Dario Sammartino jammed the small blind for 709,000 and Christopher Frank called from one seat over.

Sammartino held the {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} and Frank two over cards with the {A-Spades}{8-Spades}. The board ran out {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and upon closer inspection, Sammartino was covered by a few big blinds to join the rail.

Christopher Frank Eliminated in 12th Place (€23,395)

Level 19 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Christopher Frank
Christopher Frank

Niko Soininen min-raised the button and Christopher Frank shoved the small blind for his last 200,000.

After the big blind folded, Soininen made the call with the {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}, trailing Frank's {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}.

All that changed after the {q-Spades}{2-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flop, with Soininen picking up a pair. After the {3-Clubs} turn and {4-Clubs} river, Soininen actually made a flush and Frank hit the rail 12th.

Jussi Nevanlinna Eliminated in 11th Place (€26,645)

Level 19 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Jussi Nevanlinna
Jussi Nevanlinna

It was a drama in three acts that saw Jussi Nevanlinna depart in 11th place. After the elimination of Christopher Frank, Vlado Banicevic said that there was supposed to be a single big blind and the dealer proceeded with the action. Nevanlinna then moved all in before they realized that Jean-Noel Thorel should have been in the small blind and Banicevic in the big blind.

Floor was called and it was ruled that the action stands as it is with Thorel in the big blind. Nevanlinna's all in went through uncalled and two hands later, Banicevic was in the small blind and shoved with {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. Nevanlinna called with {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and the board ran out {8-Spades}{J-Clubs}{J-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. Banicevic doubled for 485,000 and Nevanlinna was left with one ante only, forced all in the next hand from the small blind.

Banicevic limped from the button and Ilari Sahamies shoved the big blind to enforce a fold. Nevanlinna's {K-Spades}{3-Hearts} ended up second best to the {A-Clubs}{10-Spades} of Sahamies on a board of {8-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and he took 11th place.

Jason Mercier Eliminated in 10th Place (€26,645)

Level 20 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Jason Mercier
Jason Mercier

In a battle of the blinds, Jason Mercier moved all in for 750,000 from the small blind and Steve O'Dwyer called from one seat over.

Mercier: {9-Hearts}{8-Spades}
O'Dwyer: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}

The Team PokerStars Pro was in dire need of help, but the flop {6-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} flop was the exact opposite. It was all over after the {Q-Diamonds} turn and the meaningless {8-Diamonds} river completed the board.

Steve O'Dwyer shoved the button and Byron Kaverman called all in for 650,000.

Isaac Haxton let go of the big blind and the hands were revealed.

Kaverman: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
O'Dwyer: {10-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

Kaverman kept the lead through the {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop and {q-Clubs} turn, but the {j-Spades} river did him in, giving O'Dwyer a bigger pair.

Julian Stuer Eliminated in 8th Place (€43,540)

Level 22 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante
Julian Stuer
Julian Stuer

Julian Stuer open-shoved for less than 500,000 and Jean-Noel Thorel made the call with {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}.

Stuer held {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and was flipping for his tournament life until the {5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} flop made Thorel a set and left him drawing pretty thin.

The {7-Diamonds} turn ended things and the {3-Clubs} river was more salt in the wound as Stuer busted eighth.

Vlado Banicevic
Vlado Banicevic

Jean-Noel Thorel raised to 250,000 from under the gun and the action folded around to Vlado Banicevic. He checked his first hole card and then moved all in. "You can still fold?!" Banicevic joked to his table neighbor and Thorel tossed in the extra chips.

Thorel: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Banicevic: {A-Spades}{10-Spades}

The flop {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts} left Banicevic in desperate shape and it was all over after the {Q-Clubs} turn, making the {K-Spades} river a formality.

Jean-Noel Thorel

Jean-Noel Thorel made it 250,000 from early position and Ilari Sahamies three-bet to 800,000 from the small blind.

Jason Wheeler let go of the big blind and Thorel shoved for 2.2 million total. Sahamies snap-called with the {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} and Thorel was drawing thin with the {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}.

The board rolled out {9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{q-Hearts} taking Thorel out with it and giving Sahamies a massive chip lead.

Level 23 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante
Niko Soininen
Niko Soininen

The action folded around to Niko Soininen in the small blind and he moved all in. Steve O'Dwyer asked "how much?" and as soon as Soininen had taken his hands away from the stack to make it visible, O'Dwyer called for around two million in chips.

O'Dwyer: {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}
Soininen: {Q-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The flop {10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades} improved Soininen to a pair of tens and he also faded the {6-Clubs} turn, however the {A-Spades} river gave O'Dwyer back the lead with a pair of aces and Soininen headed to the payout desk.

Ilari Sahamies opened to 280,000 under the gun and Steve O'Dwyer called from the small blind. Ike Haxton then shoved the big blind for 795,000 total.

Both Sahamies and O'Dwyer called and checked through the {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{k-Spades} board.

Haxton held {2-}{2-} and Sahamies the {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}, but neither were good against O'Dwyer's {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}.
