Thorel Steamrolls, Busts Badziakouski

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Mikita Badziakouski got his chips in from the big blind in a blind battle with small blind Jean-Noel Thorel on a flop of {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Badziakouski showed {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades} but was trailing the {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs} of Thorel. The {J-Diamonds} on the turn was a good card for Badziakouski but proved useless with the {9-Hearts} completing the board.

Fatehi Escapes Elimination, Doubles

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Timothy Adams checked on a flop of {8-Spades}{9-Hearts}{J-Spades} and saw Ali Reza Fatehi bet 10,000 in position. Adams check-raised to 25,000 and soon saw Fatehi three-bet to 42,500. Adams pushed all in and Fatehi called.

Timothy Adams: {10-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Ali Reza Fatehi: {9-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

Fatehi still had outs for a chop and runner runner possibilities. It came {4-Spades}, {Q-Spades}, giving Fatehi the flush and knocking down Adams to 230,000.

Reixach Busts Haxton (With Some Luck)

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Button Sergi Reixach and Isaac Haxton in the big blind got their stacks in the middle before the flop. Haxton had the best of it with {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} but would suffer a "bad beat". Reixach tabled {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} and hit an ace on a board of {6-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}.

With the departure of Haxton, the tournament was 9-handed for a second. They continued to play two tables, though, as the organization didn't want to break the table, only to open up the other one seconds later again.

Haxton told the players he was returning soon, but Alexandros Kolonias was ahead of him and came walking in with a ticket to make it five and five again.

Greenwood Eliminated

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Sam Greenwood
Sam Greenwood

Sam Greenwood shoved all in from the cutoff for 73,500. Justin Bonomo in the small blind asked for a count but eventually passed up on the opportunity to call. Big blind Alexandros Kolonias snap called and revealed his cards first.

"Just about as worse a shape I can be in" Greenwood stated upon seeing the showdown.

Alexandros Kolonias: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}
Sam Greenwood: {A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

The flop came {7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{4-Spades}, prompting Greenwood to root for diamonds. The {7-Clubs} on the turn was a blank, however, and Greenwood was drawing dead. The river {Q-Hearts} was there just for good measures and Greenwood was heading for the exit.

O'Dwyer Doubles

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

We, again, just got the tail end of a big hand. On a board of {Q-Spades}{4-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, Timothy Adams checked from the big blind. Steve O'Dwyer, seated under the gun, pushed all in for 70,500 into what looked like a 40,000 pot. Adams tanked for some time before he called with {Q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. O'Dywer showed {K-Spades}{J-Spades} and raked in the chips.

Adams won the next hand, and still plays over 200,000.

Fatehi Knocks Out Two Players

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Adrian Mateos - eliminated
Adrian Mateos - eliminated

First to act, Nick Petrangelo shoved all in for 62,000. Small blind Adrian Mateos asked for a count and shoved all in over the top for 82,000. Big blind Ali Reza Fatehi called without much hesitation to put both at risk.

Nick Petrangelo: {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Adrian Mateos: {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}
Ali Reza Fatehi: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}

The board hit nobody: {9-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and just like that, two players hit the rail.

The tournament clock was paused so the tournament organization could hold a short meeting on what to do.

With just 7 players remaining, the money is getting close but registration is still open, so they might close registration. Mikita Badziakouski, Isaac Haxton and possibly others are still thinking about reentering, and Jack Salter is also hovering around. As soon as a decision is made, we'll let you know.
