Sipila Scores a Double Knockout

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 0 ante
Samuli Sipila
Samuli Sipila

Kazuhiko Yotsushika was among the latest players to jump into the tournament, yet he was just spotted all in and at risk while Mohamed Benih Benmetir and Samuli Sipila were playing for a bigger main pot.

Benmetir check-raised the {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop to 37,500 and Sipila called. On the {Q-Hearts} turn, Benmetir checked and Sipila pushed all in for more than 105,000. Benmetir was covered by that and eventually called as well to put two players at risk.

Kazuhiko Yotsushika: {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}
Mohamed Benih Benmetir: {Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Samuli Sipila: {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

The {8-Spades} on the river secured the double knockout and Sipila jumped into the top spot.

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 0 ante
Sylvain Loosli
Sylvain Loosli

Cord Garcia raised on the button and Sylvain Loosli three-bet the pot for a decent portion of his stack, which Garcia called. On the {K-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop, Loosli moved all in for around 25,000 and Garcia called.

Sylvain Loosli: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Cord Garcia: {A-Spades}{J-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}

The {6-Hearts} turn gave Garcia some more outs and he got there with the {10-Spades} on the river to eliminate Loosli on his first bullet. Max Silver was also eliminated shortly after on a different table.

Astedt First Player to Bust Twice

Level 6 : 400/800, 0 ante
Niklas Astedt
Niklas Astedt

Niklas Astedt was already all in and awaiting his fate while Mohamed Benih Benmetir and Dany Chidiac were still to act. Ultimately, the river of a board {A-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} was checked through and Chidiac showed {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. Benmetir held {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}{5-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for a full house and Astedt mucked.

As per all in showdown rule, his {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{X-} were exposed and the Swede became the first player to bust twice in this event.

Picking up the action on the {Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs} flop, Krzysztof Magott checked and Max Silver bet 6,000, which Magott called. On the {9-Hearts} turn, the second barrel of Silver was for 15,000 and again Magott check-called.

The {Q-Spades} fell on the river and Magott checked for the third time. Silver now took some time to consider the next move and then bet 30,000 for most of his stack. Magott eventually called and Silver showed {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades}, which Magott had beat with {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}.

Bujtas and Astedt Bust on First Bullet

Level 4 : 200/500, 0 ante
Good Start for Dowling (left) and Satubayev (right)
Good Start for Dowling (left) and Satubayev (right)

On the heads-up flop of {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, Laszlo Bujtas and Shyngis Satubayev got into a raising war and the former ended up all in and at risk.

Laszlo Bujtas: {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Shyngis Satubayev: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{5-Clubs}

The {A-Clubs} turn and {J-Spades} river kept Satubayev in the lead as he improved to a full house, eliminating Bujtas in the process.

Niklas Astedt has also been eliminated on his first bullet. He got it in after a {Q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop with {A-}{K-}{K-}{3-} double suit and Chris Dowling looked him up with the {J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}. The {8-Clubs} on the turn immediately improved the Irishman, and the {A-Diamonds} on the river was a formality.

Thorel Left With Fumes; van Holsteyn Eliminated

Level 3 : 200/400, 0 ante
Jean-Noel Thorel
Jean-Noel Thorel

Krzysztof Magott raised it up and was called by Fraser MacIntyre, then Jean-Noel Thorel three-bet and both called. They headed to a flop of {J-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and action checked MacIntyre on the button, who bet 5,000. Thorel called and Magott check-raised to 15,500, again both opponents called.

The {7-Spades} appeared on the turn and Thorel moved all in for 30,300, Magott sighed but called all in for slightly less, which forced out MacIntyre.

Jean-Noel Thorel: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Krzysztof Magott: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}

The {8-Spades} on the river failed to improve Thorel and he was left with 600 chips, headed out of the tournament and his remaining chips are currently blinded out.

At almost the same time, Chris Dowling sent Pim van Holsteyn to the rail to make it three early casualties.
