Another Premium Hand Clash on Table 1

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

There have been many, many big pocket pairs over on Table 1 and just now was no exception. Daniil Kiselev opened under the gun and Valery Yantsevich moved in for 113,000 on his direct left. When everyone else had moved aside Kiselev called but it turned out he was the 4:1 underdog in the hand.

Valery Yantsevich: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Daniil Kiselev: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Yantsevich got a much-needed double on the {4-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts} board, whilst Kiselev is one of the shortest stacks now.

Sarkarov Wields His Stack

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Elvin Sarkorov, current chip leader, has been pressuring the small stacks on his left. He has set his opponents in for the last three hands and taken down the blinds. There are currently three players who are short on his table, Arseniy Karmatskiy, Leonid Bilokur and Oleg Titov.

Leonid Bilokur has finished in 13th place after getting the last few big blinds in with {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and running into Elvin Sarkarov's {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}.

Bilokur couldn't get there on the 8sasth2d3c] board and Sarkarov has extended his lead.

When is All In Not All in?

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

The answer? When it's not all in. Artem Vezhenkov opened in early position and Elvin Sarkarov called, when everyone else had folded, Sarkarov mistakenly thought he'd called Vezhenkov's all in, when in fact it was just a raise, and turned over his cards.

With {a-Clubs}{6-Spades} on show and a board reading {7-}{6-}{5-}, Vezhenkov had plenty of information to decide what to do and he checked. Sarkarov went all in and Vezhenkov open folded {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}.

Vezhenkov is the Bubble Boy

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Artem Vezhenkov
Artem Vezhenkov

After making the correct laydown in the handed noted just a few minutes ago, Artem Vezhenkov got the last of his chips in blind vs blind. With the chip leader on his left, it was extremely unlikely that he would get a fold....and he didn't but he had got it in with the best hand.

Elvin Sarkarov: {5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Artem Vezhenkov: {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The flop fell {8-Spades}{4-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and there was a chorus of laughter as Sarkarov hit the straight. It was all over by the {7-Diamonds} turn and the {8-Diamonds} on the river was redundant. We lose Vezhenkov just outside of the money. Vezhenkov took it all in his stride though, appearing to get some enjoyment from the hand, despite it bringing his tournament to an end.

Karmatskiy Eliminated in 11th Place for ₽714,000 ($10,974)

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Arseniy Karmatskiy
Arseniy Karmatskiy

Arseniy Karmatskiy is the first player to fall inside the money. Karmatskiy got it all in with {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades} versus chip leader Elvin Sarkarov's {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}.

Sarkarov has been running extremely hot in the last couple of levels and showed no sign of slowing down when he hit a flush on the {3-Spades}{10-Spades}{k-Spades}{6-Clubs}{7-Spades} board, despite Karmatskiy hitting a set on the turn.

Titov Eliminated in 10th Place for ₽714,000 ($10,974)

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Oleg Titov is the next to fall and will take home a mincash for his efforts. As with the last few eliminations, Titov was short and got it in with {a-Spades}{7-Hearts} only to be called by Rushad Iskandarov who had one better with {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}.

With no seven or chop combinations out on the {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{6-Hearts} board, Titov bubbled the final table. That signals the end of play for the night, with our final nine returning tomorrow.

Stay tuned for a full recap.
