For the first time ever, poker players around the world will be able to compete in a prestigious European Poker Tour (EPT) Main Event from the comfort of their homes.
Yep. EPT Online runs from Nov. 8-18 at PokerStars, with 20 events of varying buy-ins ranging from $215-$25,000 (just like a regular EPT schedule), and $20 million guaranteed in prizes.
For years, many of us have watched the EPT Live streams from our desks or armchairs and dreamed of one day being able to compete, and maybe, just maybe, win a title.
All of the players in this article have already done it. They’re EPT champions, but only Victoria Coren-Mitchell and Mikalai Pobal have ever won two EPT Main Events.
With the $5,200 EPT Online 8-Max, No Limit Hold’em Main Event kicking off on 15 November, we wondered: which former EPT Main Event winners are most likely to claim another title this time around?
There are more likely candidates than you’d imagine.
Markku "markovitsus" Koplimaa raised to 25,200 from the early position, Christopher "lissi stinkt" Frank called in the middle position, and so did Bert "girafganger7" Stevens on the button.
The flop came , it was checked around to the on the turn. Koplimaa bet 48,000 for Frank to be the only one to make the call.
The river completed the board with the and Koplimaa shoved for 137,202 which Frank called. Koplimaa showed the for the bluff for Frank to take him out as he held the for the flopped full house.

The turn was the , they both checked to the on the river. Greenwood shoved and Henrique called for the 464,102 he had behind with the for top pair but Greenwood held the for two pair to get the tournament down to 15 players for Day 2.

Claiming the Day 1 chip lead with almost 140 big blinds when play resumes is "efkinis24" from Lithuania. Christian Rudolph bubbled
Only 31 players would get paid in this tournament and Christian "WATnlos" Rudolph ended up becoming the bubble when he ran his king-queen into the aces of Theologis. But just before that, "efkinis24" had taken out Rui "sousinha23" Sousa for the chip lead.
