Grafton Takes From Kim

Level 2 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

South Korea's Gab Yong Kim has started well into Day 1 as he already boosted his stack in the first level. He then faced PokerStars ambassador Sam Grafton in a battle button versus under the gun. Grafton led the {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{k-Clubs} turn for 9,000 and Kim came along. The {j-Diamonds} on the river was checked and Grafton turned over {k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a pair of kings.

Kim nodded and conceded the pot to the Brit.

Christensen Forces Fold From Adams

Level 2 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The action kicked off in a battle of the blinds with Timothy Adams making it 4,000 to go. Pierre Christensen eyeballed the stack of his table neighbour and came along. As they headed to the {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades} flop, Adams continued for another 4,000 and picked up a call from Christensen.

The {q-Clubs} turn was checked by Adams, who then called a bet worth 10,000. Adams also checked the {k-Hearts} on the river and Christensen now made it 23,500 to go. That sent his opponent in the tank and Adams used two time bank extensions before surrendering.

De Souza Takes From Conan

Level 2 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

In what started as a limped battle of the blinds, Belarmino De Souza just completed and Arthur Conan then raised to 3,500 for De Souza to call. The flop fell {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and De Souza checked, which led to a continuation bet worth 2,000 by Conan. De Souza check-raised to 6,000 and that shut down his table neighbour right away.

Grafton Bad Beats Savio

Level 3 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Sam Grafton
Sam Grafton

Steve Savio had already vaulted out of his seat as he got his stack in against PokerStars ambassador Sam Grafton with the flop showing {k-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}.

Steve Savio: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Sam Grafton: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

Savio's mood immediately changed when the {k-Clubs} turn improved Grafton as he was left with the case ace only. "That's bad," he mumbled in French. As the blank {5-Spades} river completed the board, Savio grabbed his smart phone to take a picture and then left the tournament area. He returned for a few seconds only to grab his jacket, which he had left on the chair.

Christensen Jams Up his Stack

Level 3 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

On a completed board of {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, Ahmad Achegsei made it 32,000 to go. The pot was around two times of that and Pierre Christensen almost immediately pulled the trigger and moved all-in. His shove was for 95,500 and Achegsei asked for a count, then used one time bank extension before he opted to fold with the slightly covering stack.
