Level 23 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Petar Kalev raised to 50,000 on the button and Simon Lofberg in the small blind three-bet to 225,000 to win the pot.

One hand later, Pierre De Almeida raised to 75,000 as the first player to act. Kalev three-bet to 190,000 and the action folded back to De Almeida. He pushed all-in for 540,000 and Kalev snap-called.

Pierre De Almeida: {a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
Petar Kalev: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

De Almeida gained a sweat until the {9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} turn but the {7-Spades} river paired the board and the kicker played to eliminate De Almeida in 29th place for €23,000.

Level 23 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Dmitry Shchepkin

Laurent Cessy opened to 55,000 in the cutoff and Dmitry Shchepkin shipped his short stack of 180,000 into the middle from the small blind. Cessy quickly called and the cards were on their backs.

Dmitry Shchepkin: {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Laurent Cessy: {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

The flop fell {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Cessy took a sizeable lead with a pair of aces. The {j-Spades} on the turn was the best card in the deck for Shchepkin but the {3-Spades} bricked the river as he was eliminated on the first hand of the day.

Countries Represented

A total of 19 countries are represented by the remaining runners. One of the players to keep an eye on is the last one representing Japan, Jun Obara (2,785,000). One of only three players with over 100 big blinds coming into the day, Obara is coming off a recent strong showing at the Asian Poker Tour in Incheon, South Korea that included a victory there. Today, he looks to navigate a tough remaining field to imitate that success here in the Czech capital.

Three players representing the home turf of the Czech Republic are still in the running. Those are Milan Simko (470,000), Vitezslav Cech (435,000), and in the top ten list is Ondrej Drozd with 2,380,000.

Also in the field is PokerStars Ambassador Parker Talbot representing Canada with a healthy 2,145,000.
