Pingray Successfully Bluffs Cervantes

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Hugo Pingray
Hugo Pingray

Hugo Pingray opened to 180,000 with the {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} from an early position and Morten Hvam called in the small blind with the {9-Spades}{7-Spades}, Jaime Cervantes called out of the big blind with {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

The {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop was checked to Pingray, who bet 200,000. Hvam folded and Cervantes called as they headed to the {8-Clubs} turn. Cervantes checked once more and Pingray fired a second barrel for 800,000 into a pot of 1,020,000, forcing Cervantes to use a time bank extension before he called.

That led to the {a-Hearts} on the river which improved Cervantes to trips but completed a potential flush. Cervantes checked and Pingray fired the third barrel by jamming for an effective 1,840,000.

The American immediately sighed and invested several of his remaining time banks before he let go. Some other players at the table guessed the cards of Pingray with one of them suspecting it to be ace-six.
