Jaime Cervantes Alvarez Jr
Jaime Cervantes Alvarez Jr

Fausto Tantillo raised to 45,000 from under the gun and Morten Hvam called from the cutoff while Jussi Nevanlinna came along from the button. Jaime Cervantes shoved his last 385,000 from the small blind and the big blind folded before Tantillo called quickly. Hvam and Nevanlinna got out of the way and action was heads-up with Cervantes at risk.

Jaime Cervantes: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Fausto Tantillo: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}

The board ran out {k-Clubs}{9-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Cervantes made aces and jacks to secure a pot that more than doubled his chip stack.

Jussi Nevanlinna: {a-Spades}{6-Diamonds}

Ana Marquez
Ana Marquez

Ana Marquez raised to 40,000 from the hijack and Yannick Cardot made it 120,000 from the button. The blinds got out of the way and Marquez shoved her stack into the middle, only to get a quick fold from Cardot to take the pot and move to 700,000.

A few hands later, Marquez got her 700,000 in against Cardot, who had her covered by a small amount.

Ana Marquez: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Yannick Cardot: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}

The board ran out {8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{10-Spades}{5-Spades}{7-Hearts} and Cardot's aces held to eliminate Marquez from the tournament. Marquez wished the table luck and told Cardot she had pocket aces on their previous hand.

Eric Sfez
Eric Sfez

Eric Sfez raised to 32,000 from an early position and Hugo Pingray defended the big blind, which led the two Frenchmen to the {5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop. Pingray checked and Sfez bet 62,000 only to then face a check-raise to 175,000.

Sfez then pushed for around 600,000 and Pingray beat him into the pot.

Eric Sfez: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Hugo Pingray: {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}

The {10-Hearts} turn and {a-Clubs} river brought no miracle escape for Sfez and he was sent to the rail in 30th place.

Ramon Colillas
Ramon Colillas

Over on the featured table, Ramon Colillas opened to 35,000 from early position, Jean Cristiani three-bet to 225,000 in the cutoff, Fabien Motte got his 28,000 short stack in from the big blind, and Colillas called.

The dealer spread the {9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop, Colillas checked, and Cristiani jammed for 738,000. Colillas thought about it and ultimately called.

Fabien Motte: {6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Jean Cristiani: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Ramon Colillas: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

Cristiani needed an ace or king to survive and win the huge pot, but the {10-Diamonds} and {10-Hearts} kept Colillas' ladies in front. Motte made his exit in 32nd place as the shorter stack, while Cristiani was eliminated in 31st place.

Meanwhile, PokerStars Ambassador Colillas now holds possibly the biggest stack in the tournament as only 30 players remain.

Conan Gets Over a Million and Leaves Motte With Crumbs

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Arthur Conan
Arthur Conan

Over on the featured table, Arthur Conan opened to 32,000 from early position and Fabien Motte three-bet to 133,000 in the small blind. Action folded back to Conan who called.

The dealer spread the {q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop, Motte shoved, and Conan called for his 358,000 chips.

Arthur Conan: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Fabien Motte: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

Conan had jumped ahead on the flop, and although the {j-Spades} added Broadway outs for Motte, the {9-Diamonds} confirmed Conan's double and left Motte with only 7,000 in chips.

Mantor Busts to Sfez; Misses Pay Jump

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Didrik Mantor
Didrik Mantor

Eric Sfez opened from the cutoff and Didrik Mantor three-bet to 115,000 in the small blind. Back on Sfez he quickly four-bet to 450,000 and Mantor opted to call for the vast majority of his stack.

As the {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop fell, Sfez vaulted out of his seat to check how many chips Mantor had behind. Both somehow checked and Mantor then bet the {q-Clubs} turn for 50,000 with 4,000 behind. The reason behind the move on the pay jump was rather obvious and Sfez pist-fump raised to 125,000 in a matter of a second.

As Mantor studied the tournament clock and called it off even though he still had several time bank extensions behind.

Didrik Mantor: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Eric Sfez: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Sfez all but celebrated and then had reason to when the blank {2-Hearts} river failed to keep Mantor in contention. He was eliminated in 40th place and missed out on the pay jump.

Grieco Runs Out of Time

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Marcelo Simoes
Marcelo Simoes

Yannick Cardot raised to 25,000 and Marcelo Simoes in the hijack called. Nicola Grieco on the button three-bet to 100,000 and received two calls. The {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop was checked to Grieco and he bet 200,000 for Cardot to fold and Simoes to call.

After the {3-Diamonds} turn both players checked and Simoes bet the {q-Diamonds} river for 250,000.

Grieco went into the tank and surpassed the 30-second shot clock. With one time bank remaining, the next 30 seconds ticked down and the the dealer counted down the final ten seconds as Grieco sat there motionless.

When the time had run up, his hand was dead which the Italian had not realised yet. The dealer called over the floor and Grieco's cards were indeed dead as Simoes raked in the pot. As he tried to get some information from his opponent, Grieco was shown a fishing rod throw by Simoes.
