Ensan Puts on the Pressure Before It's Put on Him

Level 4 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante
Hossein Ensan
Hossein Ensan

Yauheni Tsiareshchanka opened the cutoff to 800 before 2019 WSOP Main Event Champion Hossein Ensan three-bet the button to 2,400.

Aren Bezhanyan was in the big blind and cold called the three-bet before Tsiareshchanka folded and they were off to a flop heads up.

The 7106 hit the flop and action checked to Ensan who continued for 1,500. He then faced a check-raise to 5,000. Ensan called.

The 5 landed on the turn and Bezhanyan continued the story for 8,500. Ensan called again and the K pealed off on the river.

The action slowed down and checked through and Bezhanyan tabled 88 while Ensan tabled 109 for a light three-bet that turned into some value.

Set Over Set for Hadioglu

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Nuri Hadioglu
Nuri Hadioglu

Yunsheng Sun opened to 600 in early position before getting called by Nuri Hadioglu in middle position. The action was then on Yauheni Tsiareshchanka who three-bet to 2,700 from the cutoff. Both players called.

The 934 flop hit the felt and action checked to Tsiareshchanka who continued for 2,500. Suncalled and the Hadioglu put in a check-raise to 10,000. Tsiareshchanka folded but in an unexpected turn of events Sun put in a back raise to 25,000.

Hadioglu sat in the tank for only a moment before moving all in. Sunsnap called and the cards hit their backs.

Yunsheng Sun: 33
Nuri Hadioglu: 99

It was a gross spot as Sun was drawing to a single out going to the 4 turn and J river. He would hit the rail and Hadioglu would drag a huge pot after a massive set over set cooler.

The inaugural PokerStars European Poker Tour Cyprus has already seen multiple players find a score of over six figures and the next opportunity at a massive prize pool and life-changing money starts today in the $10,300 EPT High Roller.

The last time this event ran was at the 2023 EPT Barcelona festival last month where Ka Kwan Lau banked a massive €910,400 score after beating a field of 475 total entrants. Today the same structure will run, and players will descend on the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel Casino & Spa to take their shot at the title, the prize money, and the trophy.

This event allows for a total of two entries with late registration closing at the start of Day 2. In total, this will be a three-day event with each day kicking off at 12:30 p.m. local time. Day 1 will see 10 levels of action before players break to bag for Day 2.

Players will begin with 50,000 in chips and the blinds will start at 100/200/200. This tournament will feature 60-minute levels with a 20-minute break after every two levels and a 75-minute dinner break at the completion of level 6. Approximately 15% of the field will make the money.

At the start of the event, a shot clock will be implemented. Each player will receive four time bank cards worth 30 seconds each at the beginning of the game. Additionally, players seated at the first hand of every even level number (2, 4, 6, 8, etc.) will get an extra time bank card. If a player gets eliminated and re-enters the game, they can claim the same number of time bank cards they had at the time of their elimination when they take their seat again. It is not possible to claim time bank cards later.

Make sure to stay tuned into PokerNews for all the updates on who will be crowned the next champion at the first-ever PokerStars European Poker Tour Cyprus!
