Dziubdziela Gets the Dub and Doubles

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Mats Ullereng raised to 4,000 from the button and Marcin Dziubdziela three-bet to 16,000 from the big blind. Ullereng put in the extra chips and a flop of 10K8 appeared.

Dziubdziela continued for 7,000, which Ullereng called. Another bet from Dziubdziela then followed on the A turn, this time for 17,000.

Ullereng took some time before committing the same amount to the pot for a call, and the 7 river rolled off. Dziubdziela went for it all and put his entire stack of 41,000 in the middle, and a quick call followed from Ullereng.

Dziubdziela showed KK for a flopped set of kings, and that was enough to trump the two pair of Ullereng, who played A10.

Ullereng was left with less than ten big blinds, and they would soon be transferred to another player as well, resulting in his elimination.

Flip Becomes No Longer a Flip

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Do Chung Tran got his last 12,000 chips in from under the gun and the action folded to Patricia Almeras in the big blind, who made the call.

Do Chung Tran: AQ
Patricia Almeras: 55

Almeras flopped a set on 45J and Tran astutely noted that the hand was "no longer a flip."

The A turn left him drawing dead and the A river gave him trips as a consolation prize, but did not prevent his exit from Day 1c.

Double Knockout for Merva

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Samuel Polack and Julien Sitbon were seen leaving the tournament area together, as they were eliminated in a three-way all in and call situation.

According to Darius Merva who won the pot, he called from the small blind after Polack opened in the cutoff and Sitbon called on the button.

On a flop of QJ9, everybody checked to Sitbon who bet 2,500. Merva called, but Polack raised to 7,500. Then Sitbon decided to go all in for approximately 28,000. Merva called, and so did Polack, with his last 20,800 remaining chips.

Samuel Polack: K10
Julien Sitbon: AJ
Darius Merva: Q10

Polack was in the lead with his flopped straight, but Sitbon still had a flush draw to win. However, Merva was lucky enough to hit a runner-runner full house thanks to the turn 9 and the river 9 to take this big pot.

Micallef Amasses More Chips

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

On a flop of 9Q4, Matthew Micallef checked to Petr Zalsky, who then went on to make a bet of an unknown amount. Micallef called and the J turn was dealt.

Micallef checked again and Zalsky put in 12,500 chips. Micallef responded with a jam, and Zalsky quickly threw in his entire stack of around 30,000 chips to put himself at risk.

Petr Zalsky: JJ
Matthew Micallef: K10

Micallef's straight held as the 5 river did not upgrade Zalsky's set to a full house. Zalsky headed to the exit while Micallef chipped up further, playing more than three times the average stack.
